IS Eddie ducking Parker
Re: IS Eddie ducking Parker
If AJs chin is so bad, why hasn't the sparring footage been released by guys trying to get him in the ring? Pros tend to film there spars i believe so their trainers can look at improvements.
So where is the footage? Other than dubois (i call that one dubious as again where's the footage) who has decked AJ in sparring?
AJ has been down, but he got up, showed his heart and fought bacl to KO wlad(just admit it was in the best shape he had been in for years)
Stamina issues? He took takam 10rounds, won 9 of them, droppws takam burst his eyes open but needes the ref to save him? If it had continied for the extra 2 rounds takam loses a wide decsion.
He went 11 rounds with wlad, took time to recover feom his knockdown (not surprising given it was the first time diwn as a pro) before ending the fight.
Id say they are hardly stamina issues. Every fighter takes time off during fights.

Joshua needing the ref to step in to beat Takam? Some shit gets spouted on the net but that's right up there.
Re: IS Eddie ducking Parker
It's just Parker's team doesn't want to let their champion be knocked out for poor check.

He brings a world title, that Joshua says he wants, to the table.
Parker has been respectful and conceded he doesn't deserve 50/50, Joshua and Hearn should show the same respect and give him what he does deserve.
Pay the man and get the fight on...

Parker brings nothing in financial terms. His title fight with Hughie was an embarrassment watched by nobody. The belt is a side issue; we have champions who bring nothing on a financial level to the table and non-champions who bring loads.
Parker has nothing to drive a hard bargain with. If he walks away he'll lose sooner rather than later because he's not very good. Then he's immediately a guy barely registering on the radar. He can't say he's bringing money to the table as he's patently not. He'll take 30% and get splattered for his retirement pot and that will be that. His team can talk alright but deep down everyone knows who this pans out.

Haye obviously currently can't be considered and neither can Tyson Fury. Who have you got in mind as a non champion that brings loads to the table?

if Joshua doesn't want to unify the titles then go right ahead and keep fighting non-champions and mandatories.
If Joshua does want to unify the titles and become the undisputed champion, like he says he does, then he has to pay Parker for the privilege of fighting for his WBO HW Title and when that day comes I hope Parker gets his 35%

Povetkin in Russia and Dillian Whyte are the only men that bring a good payday to the table that don't hold a title imo...leejonesjnr wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:15Who are you thinking of?dirk2686 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 09:58non-champions who bring loads.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 08:35

I meant in a general sense. People have said things like two fighters with a title each should get 50/50 but that's just not how the business works.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:15Who are you thinking of?

I don't recall many if any that have said Parker deserves 50%.dirk2686 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:29I meant in a general sense. Even Parker and his promoter have said he isn't worth 50%...

Do you think Wilder v Parker should be split 50/50?dirk2686 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:29I meant in a general sense. People have said things like two fighters with a title each should get 50/50 but that's just not how the business works.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:15Who are you thinking of?

I don't think Povetkins backers will put up enough to make that an attractive option for a voluntary. Perhaps they could win a purse bid. Whyte without a title doesn't really bring anymore than anyone else I don't think. The curiosity value has been used up.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:29Povetkin in Russia and Dillian Whyte are the only men that bring a good payday to the table that don't hold a title imo...leejonesjnr wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:15Who are you thinking of?

Apparently the Hammer fight is for the WBA mandatory slot so purses bids between the Russians and Hearn are a realistic possibility...leejonesjnr wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 10:39I don't think Povetkins backers will put up enough to make that an attractive option for a voluntary. Re: IS Eddie ducking Parker
Nobody could be undisputed Heavyweight Champion anymore as the WBA would just keep making new belts.
Joshua, or Parker, could be the WBA, IBF, WBC, WBO, WBA Super, WBA Regular & WBA Topical Champion and they'd STILL come up with another belt to get their pathetic hands on more money.
Until Tyson is completely out of the picture he's the lineal champion. All the other belts were won in vacant bouts with average fighters.
Joshua is number 1 at the moment because of the Klitschko fight. Parker has promise but hasn't beaten anyone to be considered top five at the moment. He has no stand out victory and no considerable fan base. Just the 4th rate belt.
I'm lowering my 30% offer to 25%.

Who do you consider top 5 today?
Re: IS Eddie ducking Parker
I don't have a specific top five Wes but there are probably 7 or 8 fighters who have better resumes than Parker so far, in humble opinion.
He has promise and I rate his chances against Joshua better than most here but at the moment he's still prospect - with a belt, as Joshua was prior to Klitschko.

It'd be interesting if PPV buyers could choose who to give their money to in main events. Maybe have 75% to A, 75 to B, or 50:50 as options.
Mayweather's earnings would've fallen dramatically, given how much of his revenue was in the hope of seeing him lose.

Tbh bored of this ping pong. What would of been the right thing to do would of been to fight wilder next and give the fans a decent fight.
Now what will happen is aj will beat Parker. And wilder will beat ortiz.
So then we have to.wait until September onwards next year AJ Vs wilder...
