I like Ortiz and Hatton.

Hatton more so, because he was a bigger name. Ortiz was have been rocked because his body language was saying, "Hey Floyd, let's go get a beer."

I don't rub a guy's arms when I do that like Ortiz, but different strokes for different folks.

The man didn't do roadwork which is a must for Boxing... Especially when you don't know what you're doing -- you'll get tired real fast.
It wasn't competitive because McGregor was any good though, FMM just let him punch himself out. A good tactic considering McGregor said he was 170lb on fight night, about 20lbs heavier, 12 years younger and FMM hadn't fought for 2 years. FMM toyed with him and after the fight his dad said Mayweather hardly trained or done any running in preparation. It was a circus show
Just total BullCrap all the way.. Floyd trained like an animal for McGregor.. He didn't toy with him -- he went after Conor with a vengeance.. I'll go by what the sparring partners and people in his camp were saying during the buildup about how Floyd trained. He was ripping them out.

McGregor trained hard too...But he had an MMA striking coach training him... Good GRIEF, that's NOT the way to do it... McGregor had no stance or footwork or defense. He couldn't get away from punches.. It still took Floyd 6 rounds to get McGregor out after Conor was totally exhausted -- McGregor landed more punches on Floyd than Pacquiao did.. and he rocked Floyd a couple times.. He did well.

If you come out and outbox Floyd Mayweather for 3 rounds -- you're doing pretty good if you never fought a boxing match before in your life.

Floyd was ripping the shitt out of Ortiz and VO was going to be gone in 6 anyway -- even if he didn't stick his chin out for Floyd to tee off on.

Hatton was another punching bag, but a little better than Ortiz... It took Floyd just as long to get Hatton out as it took to get McGregor out... McGregor was able to nail Floyd with a variety of jabs, hooks, uppercuts and punches coming from varied angles.. So if he had the endurance and gas Hatton had, Conor would have done a lot better than Ricky.. Neither could defend themselves -- but Conor's excuse is he never did it before.

FMM was smiling during the fight and talking to McGregor, it was all to easy for him. He had harder sparring. There were reports of FMM at strip clubs in the run up to the fight, even Chris Eubank Jr said he saw him at pool parties beforehand. FMM threw 163 punches in the first 5 rounds against Pacquiao, he only threw 85 against McGregor, his tactics worked a treat.

As I said before Old-N-Moldie... Floyd didn't LOOK for the KO. Listen UP!!!

Mayweather looked to figure out what you threw and when you threw.. He tested you with feints and various leads like Mikey does. He looked to get your timing and rhythm down. Then Floyd closed the distance and started messing you up... If you were very hittable, like Hatton or Ortiz Floyd did this job quickly.. He started tagging them up in the 1st round.. He worked them til they got knocked out.

Ortiz had been knocked out once before -- and Hatton was 43-0 -- but it was obvious they were easy to hit and Floyd would knock them out..

Floyd was smoother and more deceptive than Leonard with his straight punches -- and slicker on the inside... Leonard put more juice on his jabs and you could read them -- and line Sugar Ray up for right hands like Kevin Howard did -- a guy who wasn't a real good boxer.

Barkley lined Hearns up for big rights.. Bark was slow and didn't have any smoothness or timing on his punches.. But he dropped Hearns 3 times -- once for a crushing KO. The Blade was a 2nd rate technician -- as seen when Toney and Benn hammered him out -- and when little, fat, old, and slow Duran finessed the kid... Bark was able to both KO and outpoint Hearns -- and he wasn't very sharp -- certainly not a genius like Floyd.

What happened with McGregor is, he was a lot better than anybody thought... He was rangy, very fast, a very good athlete, and a tall southpaw... He couldn't box, but was the worst possible style for Floyd as can be seen in his Errol Spence sparring sessions... Floyd took his time figuring him out, then punished him and knocked him out -- like anybody else who got knocked out a lot -- such as Tommy Hearns for instance.

Don't be stupid Old-N-Moldie... Hearns was easy enough to hit that you didn't HAVE to knock him out with one (1) shot... The slow-assed Barkley hit Hearns with numerous right hands in their fights---beating him twice... Hagler hit Hearns like crazy...then hit him some more and wasted him EARLY!!! Who had the slicker right hand leads, Iran Barkley or Floyd Mayweather???

Floyd was so clever defensively and such a masterful technician with brilliant skills that Hearns would never find him with big shots..

Hearns couldn't stop soft chinned Luigi Minchillo for instance.. Minchillo was easy to hit and was knocked out before.. Mike McCallum had no trouble knocking him out. But Hearns lacked the punching power to hurt the Italian..

And what about Wilfred Benitez? Leonard beat an undefeated Benitez up and stopped him.. Hearns had to settle for a close MD over an ass beaten Benitez who got trashed a number of times -- and punched into retirement at an early age.

Then you have the super easy-to-hit Welterweight Alfonso Hayman...who's record was riddled with defeats and KO losses when he faced Hearns... Tommy couldn't even knock the punching bag down -- but somehow Hearns is going to get big shots on masterful Floyd Mayweather???

I block him off and on. Granted he's my favorite fighter, but hearns is about the last fighter I'd expect someone to have no respect for.

Definitely the Corrales fight was when I realized Pretty Boy was next level good.

I gotta say that Money's win against Canelo was one of his best for me -- mainly because it was a chance for him to get a guy pretty close to his prime and put a whupping on him. It's tempting (and reasonable) to minimize some of Mayweather's later wins because the guys he beat were well past their best. The Canelo win will be a pretty good counterpoint to that.

The haters always jump on the "Yeah but he weight drained Canelo" bandwagon, but since Canelo agreed to it that's no excuse for Camp Canelo in my book. He got outboxed by a better boxer.

Canelo has improved since that fight though, but it's still a great win for Floyd.

I don't think it was a great win... Cuz Canelo didn't do anything other than stand around and let Floyd punch him all over the place.. He did a great imitation of a punching dummy -- complete with square chin and block head.. Canelo looked so bad at the weigh-in I couldn't believe it, and I was surprised he even showed as much energy as he did in the fight as drained as he looked.

Canelo took the time during the fight to deliberately punch Floyd in his left leg, about mid-thigh... He wanted to show his fans he could connect with a solid shot.. Leonard Ellerbe called Canelo's team "IDIOTS" for agreeing to go to 152.. He new Canelo barely made 154 by the skin of his teeth.. In fact Canelo paid a massive fine for missing the 154-pound limit against Angulo.

Floyd Mayweather is damned smart... Floyd paid 600,000 to Juan Manuel Marquez because he couldn't come close to making the contract weight of 144 and didn't want to kill himself knocking those 2 pounds off.. Floyd paid Marquez an extra 600,000 dollars without batting an eyelash... 600,000 dollars out of a paycheck that size is like tipping the waitress... Therefore Floyd, being as shrewd as he is, made sure the fines for missing the weight in his Canelo and McGregor fights were massive -- in fact were prohibitively expensive.

When you're a boxer and see a fines like that in the contract -- or something else super ridiculous in the contract -- you're going to bitch and complain and piss and moan. But you're going to sign..You're getting paid more fugging money that you ever made in your fugging LIFE.. And Floyd knows you're going to sign.. He had those cats by the balls.

Maidana was fun. McGregor was a spectacle & he didn't do that damn bad for a professional debut. Even if you want to argue Floyd made him look good, it didn't look like Floyd was carrying him.
