Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
What happens?
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Russell would win. He's younger, he's faster, he's fresher.

Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Thats a fight I would like to see. One of Rigo's problems going in against Loma, was inactivity, the other was the weight class and age. Against Russell he makes two of those three problems smaller, he will have had activity, will be fighting at a lower weight. Against Russell who actually is pretty inactive(fights about once a year). This is a fight I would like to see.
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Russell might actually get this fight to help knock Rigondeaux down in the eyes of the public... And if he does -- after he flattens Rigondeaux I hope Gary calls out all the ducking Featherweight Champions and publicly gets on Al Haymon about not getting him fights... Russell has to start making noise about not getting fights he deserves...
He's too damned polite... I would raise holy Hell Fire if I were Russell... I would put out Youtube videos and call all the top Featherweights out and make all kinds of noise... His career is wasting away and he has to move it along.

Nobody's ducking Russell. It's his own fault. Before the loss to Lomachenko, I remember an interview when someone mentioned Santa Cruz and his response was, "Aww, we beat him in the amateurs." Mikey Garcia, "Mikey's a clown"Kalan wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 14:48 Russell might actually get this fight to help knock Rigondeaux down in the eyes of the public... Yea Mr. Russell super talented fighter. I think I heard though he has hand trouble, so maybe this inhibits the amount he fights?Kalan wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 14:48 Russell might actually get this fight to help knock Rigondeaux down in the eyes of the public... Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Loma wouldn't fight a much older and smaller Rigo at 126, so why would he fight Russell at 126?

Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
were ppl talking of loma vs russell 2? why would loma rematch a guy he already was levels above who isnt really gong anywhere? regardless of weght theres nothing to gain or prove for loma with russell. waste of time for loma.

Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Great point. Loma is much more marketable now than he was 3.5 years ago when he fought Russell. So now he has more power to call the shots.
Loma knew the extra pounds would give him an extra edge over the smaller Cuban and was dealing from a position as the more marketable fighter so was able to get Rigo to make concessions. Not that it would have made any difference because at age 37 Rigondeaux is a mere shell of the fighter he was in his prime.
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
um didnt rigo turn down a 126 offer and want a 124 catchweght? research that. hes to blame. when he fnally got desperate for a match loma had already moved up to 130.nice spin. you sound the type of guy filled wth excuses and slant and downplay. im surprsed you havent declared that russell had an off night against 2 fght loma and would win a rematch. or did u

Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Dont know about that. Feel free to provide a LINK about Rigo turning down a fight at 126. I dont remember hearing or reading anything about that but you could be onto something. Link requested...
Bottom Line: Rigo is so faded at 37 that even a fight at 126 wouldnt make any difference now.
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
research it yourself. lomas side said yes to 126 when he was there but rigo wanted 124 so declined. not true that loma wasnt willing to fght hm at 126. dumb to slant all the blame to his sde. your post are just constantly trying to devalue him and hs opponents except when u hype guys he already beat to beat hm in rematches. why so unfair mate? granted theres plenty of over the top the other way

Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Not sure if you are addressing me or Badhusker because he is the one who brought up Loma-Russell. That was 3.5 years ago. Russell has been so inactive lately that Loma would probably beat him more easily now than in did in 2014!!jamamb wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 02:14 um didnt rigo turn down a 126 offer and want a 124 catchweght? research that. hes to blame. when he fnally got desperate for a match loma had already moved up to 130.nice spin. you sound the type of guy filled wth excuses and slant and downplay. im surprsed you havent declared that russell had an off night against 2 fght loma and would win a rematch. or did u![]()

Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
I never said Loma was unwilling to fight Rigo at 126, just that I dont remember anything about that. It's not a big enough deal to me to research it.jamamb wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 02:26 research it yourself. lomas side said yes to 126 when he was there but rigo wanted 124 so declined. not true that loma wasnt willing to fght hm at 126. dumb to slant all the blame to his sde. your post are just constantly trying to devalue him and hs opponents except when u hype guys he already beat to beat hm in rematches. why so unfair mate? granted theres plenty of over the top the other way![]()
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
That depends on who you think is lying about it. Think about it, Loma's team say he can easily make 126 still, and if so, why didn't they do their recent fight at 126? It is obvious who was lying. That amount of weight wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome, but it would have legitimized Loma's win more. Even he said its not a good win for him considering the circumstances.jamamb wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 02:14 um didnt rigo turn down a 126 offer and want a 124 catchweght? research that. hes to blame. when he fnally got desperate for a match loma had already moved up to 130.nice spin. you sound the type of guy filled wth excuses and slant and downplay. im surprsed you havent declared that russell had an off night against 2 fght loma and would win a rematch. or did u![]()
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Sorry I misread it. To me Rigo is done, and doesn't deserve any big fight. Pretty much the same as I feel about all cowards.

Russell doesn't fight.
Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
It's not hand trouble it's Al Haymon trouble... Russell gets 1 fight a year against inappropriate opponents...victor-romeo wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 15:17Yea Mr. Russell super talented fighter. EVERYBODY'S ducking Gary Russell: Selby... Mares... Santa Cruz... Frampton... Cuellar... They'd get KO'd... He wants to fight these guys and they want NO part of him... It takes 2 to fight... And when you have Russell's talent you don't sit on the shelf.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 15:13Nobody's ducking Russell. It's his own fault. Re: Rigondeaux vs Russell at 126
Russell needs to stay active and earn his stripes. He hasn't done much in boxing relative to what he thinks he has. Lord knows how he gets away with fighting once a year against bums. Maybe he has another job.Kalan wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 16:31EVERYBODY'S ducking Gary Russell: Selby... Mares... Santa Cruz... Frampton... Cuellar... They'd get KO'd...
