BJ Flores (34-3-1) has advised BS.com that he has signed a promotional deal with Salita Promotions which is headed by former contender Dmitry Salita. The former cruiserweight title challenger has moved up to the heavyweight division where he hopes to soon get a title shot. Flores is ranked #9 by the WBA.
Salita's stable includes top female champion Claressa Shields and heavyweight contender Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller. Salita's work with Miller is one of the reasons why Flores agreed to a deal.
"He is very smart and has developed some very good relationships in the sport. Look at the work he has done with Jarrell Miller who is one of the best heavyweights in the sport, " Flores told BS.com.
Flores had previously been part of the Premier Boxing Champions stable who helped lead him to title shots against Tony Bellew and Beibut Shumenov in the cruiserweight division. He believes that with move he will be able to face the top fighters in the heavyweight division.
"I am looking forward to landing some of the big fights that I haven't been able to secure myself and Dmitry is the guy for the job," Flores stated.
Flores was in the running to face Alexander Povetkin who is facing Christian Hammer on December 15th. He hopes to return to the ring soon.

Man, BJ Flores sucks. I'm surprised the dude is such a big name that people really want to fight this guy. Not at all sure how he gets such great opportunities.

34-3-1 Record looks good when padding out someone’s record.
He’s actually regarded as a really good sparring partner - lot of fighters have used Flores.
Re: BJ Flores Signs with Salita Promotions
Why did you make a thread about this or believe anybody gave a sh*t what promoter Flores signed with?
He's not even a has been. He's a never was.

I like Flores as a color commentator on boxing broadcasts.
He's well-spoken, knowledgeable.
But he's in his late 30s and his blowout defeat to Bellew last year probably ends his days as a serious contender.
It's hard to imagine he would make any impact in the heavyweight division.
