Tevin Farmer robbed

Post by nobleart1978 »

I thought he won against the Jap 9 rounds to 3.

Corruption at work.

Needs to be investigated. But won't be.

Bigger robberies than that weren't investigated. Frankly even if it were investigated. Who's doing the investigating?

I've seen controversial fights "investigated" in the past. I've never seen a damn thing come of any of those investigations.

That's the problem.

Of course, there won't be an investigation, but there should be. But your right. Who would be doing the investigation.

Does boxing no good these dodgy decisions.

A boxer fighting in Vegas should expect a robbery. Somebody made big money on Farmer's loss.

If you have a cautious, counter punching style. There's a chance you could get robbed in almost any fight you could have.

Try watching without the audible dribble of the commentary which set a narrative of a fight that was different to the action in the ring.

I suspect Teikken (Ogawa's promoter) paid off a few judges so they could take a world title belt back to Japan. Ogawa is very unlikely to keep the belt for very long. Ogawa LOSES to the first quality fighter he faces outside of Japan.

He never fought outside Japan before and will probably hide out there with only hometown title defenses!!

I assume you are talking about the HBO commentary (which I didnt see). I watched it on Sky livestream and even the British commentators were livid about how badly Farmer got robbed. :brick:

I'm talking about the way Sky had their tongue so far up Farmer's ass that you'd think it was a whitewash. Try watching it without those dithering, was licking buffoons. They painted a picture that didn't exist. They ignored everything Ogawa did and then seemed shcoked. They were cheerleading through out and it was very blatant

Even Ogawa and his corner knew he lost. Did you see how stunned they all were when the controversial decision was announced?

I didnt have the fight as lopsided as Sky did but definitely had Farmer winning at LEAST 7 rounds or more accurately 8-4 (I think they had it 10-2 or 9-3).

just watched 11 rounds. footage from someone in the crowds zoomed in. no commentary. thought at least. 6 couldve gone to ogawa.

the idea that farmer clearly won 8-10 rounds is truly lauaghable. so many rounds he was just doing superficial boxing where he postured, feinted a lot, looked cute, etc, but really did nothing of substance offensively.so many punches he threw were just taps from too far out to land. loads of rounds were really not much to split them.

farmer did have the best rounds of either, when he actually dug in, but so often it looked like he was just trying to show off and look as flashy as his skirt shorts. ogawa missed a lot but he was landing enough scrappy stuff to have an argument in numerous rounds.

fornicate the terrible decision crap. btw farmer has an awful style to watch. doesnt care about doing more than the minimum.reminds me of hughie, another superficial stylist.

Totally agree, when you watch the fight sound off you can see the real scoring shots. It is a close fight. I had Ogawa 115-113. All the same reasons as JAms post Farmer does not do enough.

So pleased others saw this as closer than the Sky commentators.

At one point...I think round 7 the guys said. "That's a great uppercut by Farmer.......that didn't quite land!" I the 9th Ogawa landed numerous right hands that they ignored.

I had it 7-5 Farmer.

You honestly believe Ogawa is more than a one-hit wonder?

I'll remember your name to remind you when he loses to the first quality challenger he faces. :OhYes:

If his handlers are smart Ogawa will feast on some scrubs in his home arena of Korakuen Hall before facing a legit challenger, who will dominate him.

I just watched this and I would say 7-5 to Ogawa or a draw. It's hard to cry robbery when you spend the entire fight going backwards and popping out a pot-shot every few seconds. If Farmer wasn't so lazy and didn't only go forwards to get to the centre of the ring at the start of each round he probably could have won that.

I'm not saying that fights can't be won off the back foot but you need to do more than that...

I had it 7-5 farmer as well. The hbo commentary was bad. It is obvious they have no good fighters on their network so they are trying to create some stars.

i was rooting for farmer and didn't think he won the fight....the hbo commentary made it seem like it was an outrageous robbery...that farmer had clearly won, etc...i didn't see it that way at all. ogawa landed a lot...not has flashy, but effective.

Used to be GB, but I'll admit that the US judging scene has really gotten worse.
