Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
After 5 fights at Superfeatherweight Loma has ktfo 1 opponent and made the other 4 quit on their stools. He hits the 130 limit, and weighs around 137 in the ring. I think Lomachenko can now look at possibilities at Lightweight.
The standout name is Mikey Garcia - although Mikey's last bout vs Broner was faught at 140 LightWelter, i believe he still holds the WBC Lightweight title which he won in January & could still make the 135 limit.

Garcia is so solid but not sure it’s enough. I mean rigo was a solid boxer and didn’t land a shot. Garcia though has a fighters heart and would have a plan a, b and c. He’s strong, skilled, really like watching him but I’d have to favour Lomachenko at 135.

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I’m a huuuge fan of Mikey, but I’d be concerned that his upright style would play in Lomachenko’s hands, and could see him getting picked off for a wide points loss.
On the other hand, Garcia is clearly the bigger guy and bigger puncher, and I reckon he’d target the body heavily as well as potentially being able to cut the ring off and neutralise Loma’s footwork to some extent.
So, I don’t know...but for me it’s the best fight to be made in boxing right now.

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
well ive previously thought miguel beats him clearly but not so confident now.he is technically good and bigger and stronger but perhaps lomas own excellent skill and better speed and footwork balances it out.
ill go mikey but not sure. i feel loma may be slightly better p4p though

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Garcia power and boxing skill are real deal. But he is a slow.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Salido showed the world how you beat Lomachenko and gave everyone a blueprint but no one else has gone in and tried to rough him up and make it ugly. At higher weights, I think that it will and these larger boxers will not let him get away the movement he's showing now.
With that said, i'd take Loma over Mikey still. Garcia is more powerful but a lot slower and I see him having great difficulty landing anything. Also, I think that his fight can actually happen. I think Arum wants revenge against Mikey and since he thinks Loma is invincible, he's not worried about putting him in with anyone. Arum's only boxer fighting quality right now..

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I think Garcia has enough skill and power to stop Loma in his tracks from coming in like he does. To me it is an easy pick, and I would pick Garcia. Loma would be hard to stop, but he would take a beating.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I guess, Garcia will give a tougher fight, than Loma's last 4 opponents, but Loma is going to take it. He's faster, more advanced and skilled.

At 135, I got Loma. I doubt they will ever fight at that weight though.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I would lean towards Loma but only slightly, Mikey is very very good in his own right and will have a natural size advantage.
Excellent fight, hope it gets made.

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Skipping Berchelt would be a mistake. It would also be decent prep for Mikey.
The frenzy over Nomassiah reminds me of the claims of invincibility applied to 3G not long ago.

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Loma's better than GGG and fighting tougher comp earlier in his career than GGG...Loma's best weight is 126/130 for now he could stay there for few years and slaughter people , but that would kind of be a waste of talent, so moving up to 135 and challenging himself is ok..
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
agree. actually imo you can argue that lomas got more qualty at the top of hs record than ggg does after 13 years and 40 fghts. and by far gggs best opponent he beat arguably deserved the w. lomas the better fghter too.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:41 Loma's better than GGG and fighting tougher comp earlier in his career than GGG...Loma's best weight is 126/130 for now he could stay there for few years and slaughter people , but that would kind of be a waste of talent, so moving up to 135 and challenging himself is ok..

Rigo was trying to rough him up, low blows, hitting after the break, trying to use his head, putting a forearm under the chin in the clinch and excessive holding which he was penalised for.caldo2025 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 08:13 Salido showed the world how you beat Lomachenko and gave everyone a blueprint but no one else has gone in and tried to rough him up and make it ugly. 3G fought everything put in front of him, as has Nomassiah. The Ukrainian’s skillset is considerably higher but 3G’s power is an equalizer.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:41 Loma's better than GGG and fighting tougher comp earlier in his career than GGG...Loma's best weight is 126/130 for now he could stay there for few years and slaughter people , but that would kind of be a waste of talent, so moving up to 135 and challenging himself is ok..
There are still good fights at 130, but if they decide to move up, I will not be one of his criticizers for doing so.
I would prefer that he fight Berchelt first if the Mexican is up to the challenge.

GGG never moved up to 168 in search of bigger game like Loma did from 126.Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:513G fought everything put in front of him, as has Nomassiah. I think Lara could have beat GGG if he had moved up from 154 not sure why that didn't happen, I know Lara was chirping about that but don't know if he was serious..this is in the past of course..
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Jacobs lost competitively. 3G has no losses. He should have no draws and he should be P4P number 1 right now.jamamb wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:44agree. actually imo you can argue that lomas got more qualty at the top of hs record than ggg does after 13 years and 40 fghts. and by far gggs best opponent he beat arguably deserved the w. lomas the better fghter too.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:41 Loma's better than GGG and fighting tougher comp earlier in his career than GGG...Loma's best weight is 126/130 for now he could stay there for few years and slaughter people , but that would kind of be a waste of talent, so moving up to 135 and challenging himself is ok..
No offense to Nomassiah but his two biggest wins were against outsized opponents. Besides Brook, 3G has fought people solidly in his weight class and his two biggest opponents outweighed him considerably.
I am not saying that 3G is superior. However, 3G deserves to be #1 P4P currently, IMO.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
True, but Nomassiah has never cleared out a division like 3G has.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:57GGG never moved up to 168 in search of bigger game like Loma did from 126.Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:513G fought everything put in front of him, as has Nomassiah. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. All conjecture. 3G is undefeated. Nomassiah? Not so much. However, I can overlook the Salido debacle, as I can the Gingerhead travesty.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:59 I think Lara could have beat GGG if he had moved up from 154 not sure why that didn't happen, I know Lara was chirping about that but don't know if he was serious..this is in the past of course..

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
This was a great fight for Loma in his second pro fight, wow to fight a guy although aging with this pro skill set, Salido didn't make weight hit Loma low, Loma took it all , thats when I knew we had something more than a technician on our hands, because he had the interior toughness to take the punches to the head and on the hips. and then almost KO Salido at the end, that fight was when Loma became a pro.The loss is good so he is not all about marketing being undefeated and instead taking chances.caldo2025 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 08:13 Salido showed the world how you beat Lomachenko and gave everyone a blueprint but no one else has gone in and tried to rough him up and make it ugly. Hmm so you are a GGG devotee, it's all good , I never got t he fever....I like GGG but not massive fan, always in my mind even if it's not true think he was initially a creation of matchmaking. My favorite Middleweight of all time is Marvin Hagler I think Marvin would destroy GGG.Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:04Shoulda, woulda, coulda. All conjecture. 3G is undefeated. Nomassiah? Well I thought GGG beat Canelo, Danny Jacobs he may have lost too..but hey he is 34 years old.Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:04Shoulda, woulda, coulda. All conjecture. 3G is undefeated. Nomassiah? I think Loma's best win is still Mr. Gary Russell Jr, and I think they were evenly matched as far as size goes..Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:00Jacobs lost competitively. 3G has no losses. I agree that TRex Jr was his best win. However, I consider the American overrated and an underachiever. He also is much shorter with muchvictor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:13I think Loma's best win is still Mr. Gary Russell Jr, and I think they were evenly matched as far as size goes..Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:00Jacobs lost competitively. 3G has no losses. shorter reach.
That said, it was an excellent win for Nomassiah, but not on the level of Jacobs or Gingerhead, imo.
