Caleb Truax and James DeGale are both promotional and TV network free agents that are advised/managed by Al Haymon.

The PBC head honcho will essentially make the decision for both fighters. So he'll inevitably pay the new champion a decent sum to reward him to agreeing to take the DeGale rematch (if that is something that Haymon and Chunky wants).

In this situation, I'm not sure if immediate rematch clauses are that essential.

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to these sort of things and I honestly cannot recall a rematch clause ever being stipulated for a bout between two fighters that were both with Al Haymon.

Sure, from haymon's point of view the options he had on both fighters probably superceded the need for a rematch clause. But Degale's manager (Ambrose Mendy I believe) should have demanded one.

Yes, apparently we will have to wait until after the new year until he decides to carry on or retire. The option of a rematch hinges on that. And also if someone is going to back him for future fights.
It's a stacked division, I feel he will struggle for backing.
Hearn will work with De Gale - he’s mates with him but he’s going to have to be realistic over monies and how much he’s expecting initially for comeback fights.

Groves/De Gale - De Gale/Eubank sells well and does good business - everyone knows it.

Hearn has been blasting James in the media today. They were sort of bridges burned type comments :maybe:
