Who wins Khan v Skeete?

Post by Stuarty »

Watching the Horn v Corcoran card and Skeete is in the studio with Bunce. He says he's asked Frank to make the Khan fight for him. Good comeback fight for Khan. Skeete doesn't carry much power but is very underrated in my opinion. Think Khan would take it on points but it's a banana skin type fight for him......

Anyone give Skeete much of a chance?

Skeete could do it if Khan is a spent force and is just going through the motions. Otherwise Khan takes it

Hopefully they can make it happen. Really like Skeete. I wouldn't completely write him off but I'd fancy Khan to scrape through unless he's totally shot to shít.

No money in it for Khan. He just got £400k for going camping.

He could've got 4/5 times that fighting Brook. It's a good comeback fight for him. Personally I hope it happens but he'll probably fight some unknown yank....

Yes he could but how much realistically is a fight with Skeete making him? He is still fighting in leisure centres on a Friday night.

Bradley Skeete is a very talented boxer, who lacks profile and needs a decent fight asap.

He hasn't had the best of years in 2017, only two fights (within just over a month of each other), the second one being buried on the Copperbox show, effectively as the undercard to Yarde/Dubois.

No world champion is likely to be rushing fight him as a voluntary. I imagine Horn's people considered it, until they watched
some of his bouts - he'll be hard to look good against.

(I believe) He can't fight for the proper European title as the EBU put on block on those who fight for the WBO Euro tricket (I think it's a two year ban?).

A fight against Khan would be a great opportunity - but why would Khan select him as his comeback opponent?

Fair point but Khan is still an attraction of sorts so I'm sure he'd be well paid. I see he was on slagging Pac! Cheeky cùnt! Obviously still looking to fight him....

The timing is right for Skeete to win this.
Khan should have to drop down to domestic/European level.. but because of his celebrity status mainly because of race/religion and certainly not because of achievements/ability/form he'll get shots he doesn't deserve..

I think this would be a very highly contested bout for the first few rounds, and then I expect Khan to start to overtake and stop Skeete late on or win wide on the cards.

Yeah its clear to see who 90-95% of his fanbase is

You think he'd have 4 million likes on his facebook page and 2 million twitter followers( more than any other current boxer in the world) if he was a White or Black christian haha no chance!

I asked a boxing writer why there was so many constant press releases about Khan on boxing news sites when hes nowhere near one of the best fighters in the world p4p, hasn't been world champion for many years, hardly fights anymore etc and he said because his news gets the most hits/views.

I would have to say Skeete to take the fight by decision over 12 rounds if the fight was made.
It's a hard comparison when Skeete hasn't really been in with any big names in the past but the fact he has remained busy (2 fights in 2017, 3 fights in 2016) mean he's not going into a big fight with any doubt or 'ring rust' to slow him down.

Then you have to consider the KO chance, Khan has had 3 big KO losses (Alvarez, Garcia, Prescott) and Skeete isn't a big puncher but the damage might already be there even with the extended recovery time Khan has had.
Skeete on the other hand has only lost once and that was a unanimous decision back in 2014 against Frankie Gavin and he's kept on winning since then.
