Slow progression. By time he can easily fight 20 more times before he's 25.. he'll have reached about 30+ then thats enough exp to fight for the British title and work up from there. Let's not forget he went straight into a pro career.

Taylor wins, wider than I thought but a worthy winner.

In her first defense of the WBA lightweight title, Olympic gold medal winner Katie Taylor (8-0, 4 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over a very game Jessica McCaskill (5-2, 3 KOs).
The scores were 97-92, 97-92 and 98-91.
McCaskill went right after Taylor, who right from the start showed that she was quicker, more skilled and far more accurate with her punches.
It was becoming a very rough fight in the second right with McCaskill doing everything possible to make it a gritty fight on the inside. There were brawling in the third and fourth, with both boxers having some moments with good punches landed.
Taylor was back to her boxing, moving and landing accurate punches in the fifth round. The speed of Taylor was giving McCaskill a lot of trouble and she was making the challenger miss a lot of punches. During the sixth, McCaskill managed to wobble Taylor with a big hook, but she was never able to follow up as Taylor fought her off. Taylor kept her distance as McCaskill was trying to make it an inside fight.
During the seventh round, Taylor was deducted a point for excessive holding - which didn't sit well with the crowd. After getting a bit unsettled in the that round, Taylor came back in the eight and ninth to outbox McCaskill as they boxed. McCaskill spent a lot of time charging and missing her punches.
McCaskill tried her best to turn the tide in the tenth and final round, but her skills were simply not on par with Taylor - who stuck to her boxing and was landing accurate punches from the distance.

Christ Bellew doesn’t half like the sound of his own voice.

A decent night of boxing and a good fight to end the card.
Bellew obviously hoping for a load of Quality Street to be delivered to his house tomorrow. Believe you me, there are no other chocolates that get a look in within the Bellew house.

Compared to the Horn fight, thay was a cracking undercard.
I will keep an eye out for Cheeseman, that's only the second time I've seen him and i like his all action style.

I really enjoyed the Taylor fight last night, first time I’ve properly enjoyed women’s boxing, and it was actually a competitive fight.

He’ll only get so far with opponents that know their role.
His problems start when guys turn up not to lose. I’d be amazed if he won a British

Yeah, I'd like to see her in those fights too. She really came to win and the few times she landed big shots showed power.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2017, 07:34 McCaskill was game and came to scrap.

When she watches the fight back I'm sure she will be more accepting of the decision.
