Prince Naseem Hamed-
I never missed one his fights if i could help it. He was the most exciting fighter i've ever watched. He was hilarious, talented and dangerous. No one brought that package to the sport like the Prince.

Guys like Oleg Maskaev and Derrick Jefferson had very exciting careers. They won a lot of their fights by KOs and were KFTOed numerous of times too.

To me, for a boxer to be exciting, they need to take on top quality opposition and have an aesthetically pleasing, aggressive fighting style.

Muhammad Ali had a very exciting career due to his incredible list of opponents, but his relative lack of power and fighting style meant his had some snoozers against defensively minded fighters.

Mike Tyson and GGG have had exciting careers because of their, aggressive fighting style and power which lead to a high knockout percentage. That said, GGG has, until recently, been so much better than his opponents that his fights, while exciting, haven't exactly been compelling as he had hardly ever seemed to be in danger. Similarly, Tyson was so dominant at his best - his most exciting fights didn't come until he had slipped a bit.

Arturo Gatti was in some barnstormers and is a popular choice as an exciting fighter, but I personally prefer watching boxers with more defensive skills - give me Hearns-Leonard 1 over Gatti-Ward any day.

With a bit of thought, these are the four boxers I think have had the most exciting careers since I started following boxing:

Thomas Hearns (a bit before my time, but my all-time favourite fighter so I can't leave him out)
Oscar de la Hoya
Evander Holyfield
Manny Pacquiao

Have you seen Ali fight? It's a misconception that he didn't have power. He showed power against Floyd Patterson, a defensively minded fighter

Holyfield, Bowe, Brewster and Golota all had very exciting careers too. As for the guys from the lower weight classes, I'd name Julian Jackson.

Emile Griffith found his long career really exciting.

Hearns was great value. Always came to win, never quite knew what would go down with him but it’d be exciting.

Others? Manny for sure. Ketchel was another and gunboat Smith. Greb too.

For incident, drama and excitement, Ali has to be up there.

Of course I've seen him fight - I said relative lack of power, not complete lack of power. I also disagree Patterson was all that defensively minded - he was aggressive and chinny, which was a perfect combination for Ali to use his relatively modest power against.
