Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I remember PW saying at the time that no, Floyd wasn't ducking him. Many thought Floyd was. The thing about PW, is that he never used his physical advantages like he should have, imo at least. He fought a lot smaller, so to speak, than he could or should have. It would have been a good fight to watch.Tanzio wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 16:08PWill is one of several I would have liked to have seen FMJ have to deal with.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 16:05Prime Paul Williams would have given Floyd a tough fight in my estimation. Yeah I know, almost as big as Pacquiao's.Ricky_ wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 17:15Every time i see Mimey i can't help but think "look at the fuckin size of his head"victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:33 Here is a link of Garcia meeting Loma I think it was earlier this year..
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
It's not that big... Watch his fight with Adrien Broner... Broner started at Featherweight and His head is a lot bigger... He's also taller and just a bigger man all around... Mikey still handled him by a much wider margin than the scorecards.Badhusker wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 18:57Yeah I know, almost as big as Pacquiao's.Ricky_ wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 17:15Every time i see Mimey i can't help but think "look at the fuckin size of his head"victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:33 Here is a link of Garcia meeting Loma I think it was earlier this year..
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I like both, but I'd go with Loma in this
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Rigo doesn't have the physical prowess or size to do the roughing up that i'm referring to. Rigo was not only jumping up 2 weight classes and was outweighed by almost by almost 10 in the ring that night, he was a lot shorter. I'm talking like the way that Horn roughed up Manny. That's the style that i'm talking about. He'll find those boxers when he moves out of the little boys division.KiwiRider wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 14:48Rigo was trying to rough him up, low blows, hitting after the break, trying to use his head, putting a forearm under the chin in the clinch and excessive holding which he was penalised for.caldo2025 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 08:13 Salido showed the world how you beat Lomachenko and gave everyone a blueprint but no one else has gone in and tried to rough him up and make it ugly. At higher weights, I think that it will and these larger boxers will not let him get away the movement he's showing now.
With that said, i'd take Loma over Mikey still. Garcia is more powerful but a lot slower and I see him having great difficulty landing anything. Also, I think that his fight can actually happen. I think Arum wants revenge against Mikey and since he thinks Loma is invincible, he's not worried about putting him in with anyone. Arum's only boxer fighting quality right now..
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
I do love that we don't have to worry about Loma's undefeated record getting in the way of our entertainment. But see, I can't stand the excuses fans and announcers continue to use to minimize the loss on Loma's record. Salido is a warrior and HOF boxer and deserves to celebrate a clear win against Loma. Loma agreed to keep the fight on with Salido so right there, you can't use the weight excuse. All great boxers push the rules and whatever they can get away with in the ring is called just "being a pro". Loma could have fought fire with fire and returned any sketchy shots or he could do what he does now in most fights which is cry like a little girl to the ref for the smallest foul. He did neither. Finally, you don't win a fight by almost knocking someone out in the 12th after you've already lost the fight on the cards. A loss is a loss. Loma fans need to take it like men and move on and just enjoy the fighter he's turning into. He's clearly elite but i'd like to see him in the ring with someone that weighs more than my girlfriend for once.victor-romeo wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 15:05This was a great fight for Loma in his second pro fight, wow to fight a guy although aging with this pro skill set, Salido didn't make weight hit Loma low, Loma took it all , thats when I knew we had something more than a technician on our hands, because he had the interior toughness to take the punches to the head and on the hips. and then almost KO Salido at the end, that fight was when Loma became a pro.The loss is good so he is not all about marketing being undefeated and instead taking chances.caldo2025 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2017, 08:13 Salido showed the world how you beat Lomachenko and gave everyone a blueprint but no one else has gone in and tried to rough him up and make it ugly. Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Mikey punches not enough. Gets outslicked outlanded. Loma ud
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
You want him to fight Jarrell Miller?
Loma and Mikey are two divisions apart. I don't see this fight happening anytime soon.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
That performance, that "effort" by Rigandeaux was as pathetic as anything I've seen happen in a ring. Lomachenko literally had nothing to worry about, it does not get easier than that. Obviously that has a lot to do with his insane ability and skill. It isn't indicative of much with regards to Garcia though. That's a real fight with real danger not just talk.. I don't see Garcia winning unless he gets a one punch KO, and even if his timing is very good its doubtful that happens.
Loma and Garcia are not 2 divisions apart. Mikey is a lightweight, venturing up for a payday does not constitute a definitive jump. He is a lightweight, watch and see.

Mikey is not going back down to 135.

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
That's part of the "A side / B side" mentality, if you ask me. If you're the up-and-comer wanting to fight somebody over whom a win would help you build rep and build your CV, automatically it's on you to accept whatever crap they want to shovel on you because walking away from the fight wouldn't matter to them, in fact if you're a tough young "high risk low reward" fighter, they may even prefer to just walk away from it.
Weight disparity remains a significant detail of a fight regardless of the outweighed party having "agreed to keep the fight on." (Every fight that ever happens has, by definition, been "kept on," so by your logic, weight disparity and whatever else you personally don't want to hear about can be banished from every conversation about every fight). Agreeing to keep the fight on doesn't seal the relevant details into a gag order by which they forever become unfit topics for conversation. Missing weight can provide an advantage, and that matters, particularly at lower weight classes.
Is it particularly what you care about and want to watch, as a boxing fan? Who's the superior ball puncher? Accepting whatever a referee happens to allow is a slippery slope that leads quickly away from anything that deserves to be called boxing. Samson Po'uha should have just risen to the occasion and matched Andrew Golota's great ability to bite a guy's neck. Miguel Cotto should have just manned up and stuffed as much plaster in his gloves as Margarito did. Ditto Collins-Resto, ditto any foul play that officials let a guy get away with and that therefore, by the logic you're using, was just an acceptable part of the fight.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
BTW, i am definitely not a fan of this !marinating" thing, but Lomachenko - Garcia match should wait a bit. If Lomachenko can make fight with Berchelt and Mikey with Easter/Linares/Flanagan, then we can see more exciting matches and if they will win it will bring a lot more hype to potential megafight

Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
So you are not fan of marinating fights... But you still want this fight to marinate a bit.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
The hype of Loma is crazy. The fact the majority on here seem to heavily favor Loma over the 130 lb. Floyd in a mythical match just shows how delusional people are on here. Honestly, put Lomachenko in with Mikey, he's going to get his ass handed him... Please for the sake of this sport and to shut these people TFU, please put Lomachenko in the ring with Mikey Garcia at 135.. I beg you!
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
ya the hypes obviously annoying you mate. think you mentioned loma, ggg, and kov a lot in that regard.there is a lot of hype jyst for being soviet. though i have been very impressed by loma now. dont think hed get a beating at all,
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
Garcia made it very clear he is ready to fight any time, so we'll see how confident Loma is. If he takes the fight next, we will know he is very confident of beating MG. If he puts the fight off, we will know otherwise. It could even go ppv, not a huge one but this is the fight folks want.
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
ya but u can flip it too. 'loma already said he wants garcia so if garcia is actually confident it will happen next. if garcia fights someone else we know hes really not so confident'
will the arum vs garcia history really not be a big deal?
will the arum vs garcia history really not be a big deal?
Re: Vasyl lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia: Who you got?
We were obviously brought up differently. I learned from an early age how pathetic excuses are and how important it is to congratulate the winner and to respect competition. Unfortunately, we are now in the "everyone gets a trophy" era where parents are teaching people like you that the reasoning listed above is acceptable when it comes to competition. We used to have a word for people like you and unfortunately, you would have been labeled a "big puss". Sorry but it's true. So if you could go ahead and change your username over to Big Puss then that would be great. Thanks.squiggy wrote: ↑13 Dec 2017, 10:50That's part of the "A side / B side" mentality, if you ask me. Comparing Salido's tactics to the examples you provided is also a Big Puss move. Not even close. Try again. You, again, probably never played sports before if you can't understand the rational that I intimated about in regards to "pushing the rules". I'm not going to explain it to you but you're off again on your interpretation.
