When Wilder wants 50/50 for AJ.

Post by KiwiRider »

He's dreaming, isn't he?
After all his ranting and raving about unification, fighting the best.
Blah blah blah.
No way will this fight happen with a 50/50 split.
Time to move on?

He won't get 50/50.

It's the oldest trick in the book. Offer a contract, that's quite obviously going to be scoffed at the opposing camp.

Then claim you tried to make a deal, and go back to flattening tomato cans.

Given Wilders history of calling fighters out when they are already committed, asking for way more that he knows he won't get is just another tactic to keep away from meaningful fights.

He's still a bumfighter indeed, maybe Tyson Fury can fight him as a comebackfight next week or so.

Wilder isn't doing himself any favours that's for sure, says one thing and his actions prove another thing altogether....

Was the AJ V Klitschko a 50/50 split?

I expect Hearn will offer a 60/40 split in AJ's favour? Or is that even too high?

To be fair to Wilder, this is maybe the biggest fight possible for AJ worldwide. Fury vs AJ won’t register out of the UK. Parker, NZ and here. You pay for the USA born fighter. If Eddie & AJ are confident, then sign, but insist on a rematch. Maybe 40/40, winner takes the 20%...?

Klitschko would destroy Wilder in 2 rounds, Klitschko should receive a 90/10% deal against Wilder.

It is true, it’s the biggest fight out there but, Joshua taking 90% of a fight with Whyte, earns as much as taking 50/60% against Wilder. Joshua holds all the aces here.

Whoever he fights he earns big money, 7 figures every time until he loses.

Wilder can earn £10m+ against Joshua or £1m against anyone else!

I don’t care who gets what split, I just want to see it happen.

50-50 in wilders head because both have titles and are undefeated. But business wise Joshua is easy 70%

Most of America ain't heard of Wilder. He should snap their hands off even at 70/30 tbh. I reckon team Joshua would probably except 60/40 if pushed and pushed.

If Parker is getting 35%. Then Wilder will most definitely get 40 or better.

Bith wilder & parker should get no higher than 40%

But what annoys me most about these 2. It is the money that is holding the fight up.

Surely if they believe in themselves then why not take the smaller cut & beat AJ before then earning shedloads?.

If AJ believes in himself why not overpay the other champions, take their titles and earn "shedloads" as the undisputed champion?

I thought Parker should hold out for 35%, I reckon he'll take a little less like 33.3%.
Wilder will get around 40% of a much bigger pot...

Wilder's problem is that i believe AJ is a bigger draw in the UK than Wilder is in the US.

If Wilder's appeal was as broad across the US as AJ's is here, then he would be the one with the right to command a lion share of a Vegas purse. As it currently stands, AJ should be commanding the lion's share of a Wembley purse.

Wilder should just take whatever he's offered... he could KO Joshua in 1 round then make as much money as he wants.

40% max for Wilder. He will make an absolute fortune. At least 6 times what his best purse will have been.

He should still come over and wipe out Whyte first. It would make the Joshua fight much bigger as it would build his profile up over here.

agreed. The numbers Hearn was talking to face Whyte seemed daft to turn down especially for a fight the majority believe he would win...

Wilder only needs to have 5% coverage in the US to have about the same amount of coverage as AJ has in the UK (that brings both to about 15 million)

One man comes to the ring putting (probably) 3 Heavyweight titles on the line... The other man enters with a single strap.
It's hardly going to be on equal terms, considering they are both taking different risks, one stands to lose much more than the other...

Who are you kidding? The Germans have a big interest in Heavyweight boxing ever since the Klitchskos used to have sellouts in their country. And The Russians always have an interest in the Heavyweight scene (with Povetkin) - do you really think they would let a AJ V Fury fight happen without buying coverage for it?

Absolute nonsense.

AJ makes at least ten times what Wilder does per fight. His team must know this and by spouting 50/50 are showing they are not seriously looking to make the fight.

Then put popularity and business aside just look at their resumes. Breazale is arguably better than anyone Wilder has fought.

Where have i said it is not AJ? It is greed from both sides.

Why should AJ overpay when he will end up overpaying for every single fight?

What does wilder bring to the table bar the belt? AJ has a deal with Showtime in the states, sells stadiums out here & would probably see over 10k brits travel to vegas to see him fight. Whereas wilder couldn't sell out the garden.
