I don't think I've ever seen a fighter so happy to lose and avoid a fight with a far superior fighter, he would have been absolutely destroyed by Joshua. Hammer looked about as good as the guys AJ was destroying ten fights ago.

Povetkin looked ok, nothing special at all and would get beaten up by any of the best, it's all about levels!

I don't think I've ever seen a fighter so happy to lose and avoid a fight with a far superior fighter, he would have been absolutely destroyed by Joshua. Hammer looked about as good as the guys AJ was destroying ten fights ago.

Povetkin looked ok, nothing special at all and would get beaten up by any of the best, it's all about levels!

Dubois has little head movement and is pretty straight up. Moves purely in straight lines and Warren recently admitted that he got chinned in sparring. However Hammer will just come to survive. It really shows how poor Price is to lose to someone like Hammer

God that was piss poor to watch, Hammer should get his purse withheld, he never even remotely tried to upset Povetkin, I did give Hammer a share of the 1st because both guys done near zilch, Hammer did land a couple of nice jabs to the body in that round but that was as good as it got for him, he was either holding or running, done an ok job of making Povetkin miss I suppose, Povetkin for his part was one paced, boring and predictable. he did at least try to let his hands go, his timing wasn't great though and for me looks finished as a serious contender, the only time he showed any urgency was after the 10 second clapper when he turned it up a bit on Hammer before the bell rung

Recent interview put up on youtube. Not sure who it was with. It was put up recently. I watched it yesterday. He didn't say who it was that chinned him. He didn't say he got chinned per say it was more like he was going through a list of things with Dubois and one of them was "Oh and he did get clipped on the chin in sparring, I know all about that".

Man that was hard to watch I almost fell asleep halfway through. I thought Pulev v Kevin Johnson was the worst HW fight this year but that certainly rivalled it.

Stopped watching after about 5 rounds.

Joseph Parker v Hughie Fury was easily the worst heavyweight fight I've seen this year though. Though I never watched Pulev v Johnson.

Alexander "Russian Vityaz" Povetkin scored an easy 12 round unanimous decision over Christian Hammer in Russia.

Boxing fans were expecting Povetkin to put Hammer away but Hammer decided to come into the fight with a journeyman mentality.

British fans saw a familiar face as the third man in the ring was Dave Parris. Parris, who has been a thorn in the a*se of many British boxing fans for years, was the only judge to score the recent Degale Truax fight a draw.

The fight was a drab affair with Hammer showing the same level of enthusiasm and motivation as a young man walking to the electric chair. Povetkin was in control of the fight but found it difficult to get Hammer going.

When Povetkin did take chances and leave himself a bit open Hammer would fire the right hand over the top. He would never take the lead and would allow Povetkin to win. Hammer had let Povetkin know he had no problem losing the fight. To a neutral observer it seemed that a tacit agreement had been made between the pair in the ring. Hammer would lose the fight in exchange for not getting starched.

Povetkin should share some of the blame for not going for the kill against a negative opponent but the lions share of the blame should go to Hammer who may have permanently damaged his reputation with the way he approached the fight. In a year which has featured stinkers like Hughie Fury vs Parker and Saunders vs Monroe Jr, another stinker was added to the list in Povetkin Hammer.
