Tyson Fury has replaced uncle Peter Fury as trainer!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Former heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury reveals shock move to get rid of his long time trainer Peter Fury ahead of his comeback.

Tyson has been trained for the majority of his professional career by his uncle Peter Fury, who is also father to Tyson’s cousin Hughie Fury – who Peter trains.

However in a shocking bit of news tonight speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV, Tyson Fury said his new trainer is Ben Davidson but has not ruled out working with his uncle again:

“I’m training with Ben Davis AKA Duracell Bunny. Hell of a trainer. I worked with him for the first time over in Marbella when we went out there to have a bit of fun and I said straight away within five years he’ll be one of the best trainers in the country – and I’ll stick by that. Working with him (at the moment) and we’re going well. The thing is with Ben he’s around my own age, we can have fun – we’re on the same wave length. But he’s strict at what he does and he’s good at what he does. I wouldn’t have him if he was s*** would I?”

He continued:

“Peter’s (Fury) me uncle and I’d do anything for him. We worked together well. But a change is as good as anything else. I think we we were going a bit stale in the gym – going over the same things year in year out. A bit of a change doesn’t do anybody any harm. Peter’s still working with Hughie and whoever else in the gym. We’re still talking – we have not fell out. It’s just I’m going to branch off a little bit.”

Why would he replace the man who got him to the top of the mountain with the guy telling Billy Joe Saunders to breathe during rounds?

Tyson was playing all interview. He said Ben Davidson had been banging trannys the night before also, I guess that was true aswell?

Both Tyson and Peter have both said that Tyson isn't going back to work with Peter until he gets down to fighting weight.
He is in the process of getting the weight off...

Ah Tyson, he’s being talked about again. If he actually arranges a fight, it will take this forum over. Say what you like about him, the interest factor is massive.

Tyson will never fully replace anyone that's bin with him from the start, never mind his own uncle

Just saying that for the time being he is training with Ben, I agree, when he starts getting back into the swing of it Peter will be back in the corner, sure even Ben knows that, but for now he'll be working with Ben instead of in his usual settings , think the change of being round Bill and Tom etc freshened him up a bit,

that's all i wanted from you. That is why the title and content is #fakenews

but since we are on the subject, i totally agree with you that a change of scenery will do him the world of good.
By all accounts Peter is a proper authoritarian and his training camps are gruelling.
Tyson doesn't need that right now he just needs some fitness training to get the first lot of weight off. When his is down to a weight where he can cope with Peters camp he will be back there...

Well he has replaced him.. even if it is for now. Peter won't be his head trainer.. like Tyson said, doors are still open.

Tyson needs to be told what to do - and there is only one person he listens to.

It also seems that the Furys are very insular and don't really trust people outside of their family.

He has probably been told to get some sun and get a few stone off before they start the proper training - Peter doesn't need to be there for that.

I know that, replacing brother for brother isn't quite the same thing as brother for a stranger.... plus hughie was becoming ill

Tyson is right, training with different trainers is usually a good thing over time, otherwise everything becomes repetative and you know each other so good that you start accepting 90% effort instead of 100.
Tyson also really dislikes the fact they started working together with that "my toe hurt" guy that ducked Tyson several times with bullshitexcuses after waiting a hell of a long time.

I've seen Peter Fury last week with Rico Verhoeven and Tyson wasn't there, Rico Verhoeven made Tyson Fury win against Klitschko quite a while ago now.
