douglas is average and chinny. spike needs to win if he wants to be taken seriously.

Spike looks like the kinda dude who chokes hookers in lay-bys but I think he'll be too tough and game for Douglas.

Douglas is ranked 9 with the WBC, 10 with the WBA and 7 with the WBO currently. Spike jumps right in with a win.
I reckon Hearn will be on for him to face Danny Jacobs if he wins this...

He's a confident type. He's hard and he's a puncher. I've always had a soft spot for Spike lol

Spike should look to fight Lemieux in Canada or Jacobs in New York next, whichever pays the most because he will more than likely lose...

Kind of annoyed me how the HBO team kept up the narrative of Douglas being the "better boxer." Why? Because he looks the part? Because he's got faster hands? He was getting tagged by big shots over and over, there's no good boxing on display there. I'm not shitting on the guy, he's a decent fighter if a bit limited, just found it strange that they were giving him credit for having skills that he's never shown.

Fair play to Spike though, proved to be too tough and too strong for the younger man. Forced him into his kind of fight early and it paid off. Anyone fancy Spike vs Quigley?

Quiqley would destroy spike. Levels above him. Spikes slow feet and non existent head movement make him a sitting duck for any decent boxer. Although he will probably get a big fight next I can't see him causing any trouble to likes of Golovkin, Canelo, Saunders, Jacobs, Lemieux, Quiqley etc....toughness alone can only take you so far.

I haven't seen enough of Quigley to put him in that category yet. At the very least Spike can whack so you'd expect him to test Quigley's chin a couple of times.

It was man against boy type stuff.....

Douglas is a game and dangerous kid, but when he couldn't really dent O'Sullivan and keep him off he was in trouble. Spike took what Douglas dished out, Douglas couldn't handle the return fire. Douglas was firing some good punches at O'Sullivan but he was having to fire back to try and keep Spike off him. He wasn't following a plan, he was just responding as best he could. Spike set the tempo, stuck with it and ground Douglas down and out.

I think Quiqleys superior boxing skills would help him outbox spike easily just like Saunders did a few years back. Quiqley is a world silver medallist from the amateurs which shows his class. However Quiqley is a fierceIy determined character and I feel he would be very confident in stopping spike and making a statement so I reckon it could turn out more like the Eubank fight with Quiqley stopping spike.
