Morales took diuretics.

The entire Russian Olympic Team has been banned for PED use Kalan. You're gonna act like they've never juiced?

Gil, the fact that the Russian Olympic team has been banned is a different story. OK, Povetkin took PEDs and got caught, something I have no problem to accept, let's go on a case by case basis...what's your list of the Russian professional boxers who got caught? pull it and compare it with the list of North American boxers just for the sake of argument.. :o

Most Russian boxers aren't going to get caught as they often fight in Russia and are tested by the local authorities. If an International Drug Testing lab takes place they're often caught.

Off the top of my head Povetkin is the only one to have got caught, and I'm not saying North American fighters don't juice. I'm just saying don't pretend like Russians don't also.

I expect 70 to 80% of all athletes do at some point. Some are just better at getting away with it than others.

I personally don't give a damn if they're all juiced myself. It's when fights get cancelled over it that I get annoyed.

Who gives a fuc k where someone is from?
Why do you guys keep bringing those types of points up?

All those guys are PED users like thousands of Mexican, British, Russian, American ... etc .

The fact that u keep trying to make it into something based on your stupid imaginary lines,
because you are a pussy who can’t stand on his own two feet,
has nothing to do with the point the character BAD INTENTIONS makes

So fuc k off with your country nonsense.

In the case of Povetkin and the Russian Olympic Team it's a confirmed fact. I think they wound up making an exception for the few Russian athletes that weren't juicing, but at least 70% of their athletes were banned from competing in the most recent Summer Olympics.

That's not something I'm just making up. It was in the news.

I don't care enough to keep an "Athletes who tested positive for PED's" rolodex so I could reel off the names to you, but the information is out there to be found if you care enough to look it up. I personally don't. At least not today, because I'm already aware of it.

povs still better than parker. a lot of ppl dont seem to realize just how limited joe is. he looked embarrassingly cluelese for much of his fights with obese andy and hughie and arguably deserved 2 losses. also while povs power has dropped parker never had it to begin with against decent opponents.

I think it is the other way around. Joshua should stay away from Povetkin. There is a real chance he takes a loss in that one. Povetkin is the most skilled HW out there at the moment. Just bit too small for the modern circus.

It is funny that people say hes power is gone when it was exactly the thing that kept his opponents hands glued to the face and throwing something around 10 punches a round. It is really hard to KO opponent that is doing more hugging than punching.

Joshua only needs to wait couple of more years before Povetkin is old enough to be easy prey.

I still hope that we see them in the ring soon. That would be great match :box:

It's aready too late for Povetkin, he'd be food for Joshua. His physical disadvantages may have made Joshua too much for him even at his best. I know power isn't everything but how long would you give Christian Hammer against AJ?

Marv says Hearn wants the Povetkin fight because he knows it's easier than a unification. Let's look at that: Firstly I'm not sure that either champion would beat him. Wilder would start favourite, maybe Parker too but it's pretty much 50/50. Wilder is a way bigger risk to Joshua than either Parker or Povetkin by virtue of his scary right hand.

Joshua isn't afraid of anyone but he's no fool and neither is Hearn. Of course a less risky fight is appealing, nothing wrong with that provided a boxer doesn't consistently duck top opposition. Povetkin is a big name with a fine record whose name would look great in the 'win column' of anyone's resumé and he's not going to be around forever. Fighting Povetkin also discharges AJ's WBA mandatory. I bet Eddie is licking his lips at the possibility.

A bit off-topic but I didn't feel it was deserving of a separate thread: Was anyone else impressed with the Povetkin v Hammer referee? Nothing to do with him being a Brit I promise you, but I thought his refusal to accept any holding or rule-bending kept the fight moderately interesting and prevented it degenerating into a tedious spectacle. I'm embarrassed to admit I don't know who he was but kudos to him all the same.

It would be much harder for Hammer to tie up Joshua than it was against Povetkin. Still it is hard to Ko someone who is only there to survive. I still think that Joshua would find a way to KO him.

I agree on Wilder being dangerous opponent. Joshua has better skills and should win that fight rather easily... But it only takes one mistake against Wilder and you are out.

Lol, Hearn let his prospect fight Parker for a unification and also begged Wilder to fight his other prospect, on top of that Wilder ran away scared for him and also for Povetkin.

cs: Me too and very early.

I agree on Wilder being dangerous opponent. Joshua has better skills and should win that fight rather easily... But it only takes one mistake against Wilder and you are out.

cs: Agree every word of that.

Parker would be the easiest opponent from the big names.

cs: I'd give him marginally more chance than Povetkin not because he is more skilled but his youth should give him the edge in terms of speed and athleticism. I wouldn't imagine Joshua would be troubled too much by either of them.

I hope they get the fight made soon.

cs: I'd prefer to see Parker v Povetkin for the WBO title, that would be way more competitive than either of them against AJ in my opinion, a real pick 'em fight.

I also noticed the good job the old referee was doing in the ring. He was able to keep the fight in decent track.

cs: Yes it could have been very dull if he'd let Hammer just get on and do what he wanted..
