Darn it!
I should have had Badou Jack on my list too.
I can't believe I'm still underrating him
He has proven himself too many times lately for me to make that mistake again.
How is it that a guy with skill and power, and who is consistently improving, keeps slipping under the radar?

I’ve picked my top-five fighters (listed in no particular order) using a combination of criteria, either due to pure appreciation of their fighting style/ability, my desire to see them fight (due to my excitement levels of witnessing a potentially action-packed bout) or the overall event spectacle that they’re usually involved in (i.e. AJ may occasionally face an overmatched journeyman, but the fight cards that he competes on are always stacked):

• Lomachenko
• Eubank Jr.
• Canelo
• Golovkin
• Joshua

Whilst I do appreciate fighters like Errol Spence Jr., Keith Thurman, Sergey Kovalev, Terence Crawford, Oleksandr Usyk etc., their undercards usually lack quality (due to not being “big names”), a few lack charisma, their style is too offensively conservative or they’re facing overmatched opposition where the outcome of their bouts is guaranteed. So I tend to watch replays of their fights rather than watching them compete live.

The “best” is not necessarily synonymous with the word “favourite” (i.e. more people would have Gatti-Ward as their “favourite” fight, even though Whitaker-Nelson involved the “best” fighters).

And have a feeling Dmitry Bivol may replace someone on this list by next year

I don't recall ever seeing Cletus Seldin or Gerald Sherrell fight. Perhaps I need to look them up and see some of their bouts.

I think his name suggests he is mixed race himself and is obviously struggling with it
