Aussie Fights

Post by fox »

Just thinking about a few good Australian fights that we would like to come off.
Paul Fleming v George Kambosos
Rivan Cessaire v Jack Brubaker
Damien Hooper v Trent Broadhurst/Blake Capparello
Kris George v Jeff Horn. But won’t happen.
Rohan Murdoch v Renold Quinlan.
Any more fights we would like to see? What do people think of those match ups?

That toughest of all fighters, one "TBA" is penciled in to fight someone to called A. Mundine on Wednesday, 17, January 2018 at the Star Casino, Sydney.

"TBA" is listed for a total of four bouts so far on a program that shows television via Australia FOX.

Mr. S Bika, are you free that night?

I ain't author of scheduled Jan 17 event, and doubt card credibility. Fox Sports no longer telecasts live & pays promoter 30k...it buys rights from legal streams e.g. http://www.liveboxing.com.au/ and shows it 1 or 2 weeks later. Being dud Wednesday....possibly telecast live by Main Event? Wait & see, I guess.
In the past Main Event (using Fox's outside broadcasting truck & production crew) had to be paid 50/60k in advance by promoter, who in return would get 50% of subscribers take

I like Tszyu from what I’ve seen of him. I doubt Horn would fight out of Welterweight but good fight.

Yea true, jeff’s got a lot of money to make as a welterweight. Maybe one day though if we’re lucky.

Where is the sense in that fight? What would either have to gain from it and how could it even happen?

It’s a good fight. It’s fun. Jeffs a big welter, tszyu a smaller middleweight. Jeff’s a brawler, tszyus a boxer,

Horn is a world title holder at the peak of his game, While Tszyu is an unranked kid learning his craft.

Makes zero sense to me. But feel free to like the idea.

I will and do like the idea, that was there whole point of the thread. Fights we would like to see. Prior to the Horn upset victory there was some hype around Tszyu eventually becoming our best fighter. If Horn was to lose in the future and/or Tszyu does get some popularity it’s a nice fight for Australia with a nice style contrast.

The difference in class between Horn and Tszyu is huge. I don't think that fights possible and Tszyu is lucky it isn't.

I would like to see Dempsey Mckean fight anyone. Simply because he has won an Australian title and I can't find footage of him on youtube or anywhere. I would like to see him fight just so I could get an idea if he has potential.

Horn v Tszyu probably never happen and understandable but it would still be a better fight than you’d think. I’m not 100% on Horn yet and he loses to Crawford if they fight next. Full marks to him for his win over Pacman but that was a long way from Pacman at his best.

You have now added the words "in the future" and "if Horn was to lose" and with those provisos it at least starts to make some sense.

Horn is a World Champion and beat a living legend to become one.

Tim Tszyu has had only 7 fights & got knocked down in his most recent fight.

Give him time to mature.

Mate look at my post reply before you called me out. I said maybe one day. So I can understand what you are saying. In terms of matchmaking, career tradjectary etc, I feel ashamed of myself for even suggesting this fight and I apologise. I guess I thought it was just a good Australian fight but I’ve been exposed as the fraud I am.

I never realized how big McKean is. He's a monster! Great jab too!

Thanks heaps for putting that up Like a Boss. Yep he is tall and athletic with a good jab and good punch variety. He still has a fair bit to learn though. I hope they keep picking opposition that will extend him and bring him on. Hopefully someone like Solomona next.

BTW, I was unable to insert scores prior to stoppage as I usually do, because I was only sent ring announcer's idiot sheets & not score tally sheets ;-)
