BJ Flores Targets Fights With Dillian Whyte, Daniel Dubois
Heavyweight contender BJ Flores (34-3-1, 21 KOs), who recently signed a promotional deal with Dmitriy Salita, is looking for a some big targets in the UK.
After struggling to make the cruiserweight limit and getting stopped by then WBC champion Tony Bellew in three rounds, Flores moved up to the heavyweight division and won two straight - and now he wants a big name.
“I’m walking around at 225 now,” Flores said to Michael Woods. “I feel 100% different. No sauna, no calorie deprivation. I moved up 3-4 years too late. I’m in Salt Lake, training right now. I’m not in official camp. Weight lifting, strength and conditioning, plyometrics and running four or five times a week until I have something locked in. I will have a new trainer announcement too, soon.”
Two of the names on Flores' hit list - WBC top rated contender Dillian Whyte and undefeated rising prospect Daniel Dubois.
“Have we had any talks with Whyte or Dubois? Not yet. Dubois is blowing out these bums. He’s very good. Put him in with someone already. 6-0. Anthony Joshua started fighting good guys at that time! Dillian Whyte is very tough. Good wins over Helenius and Chisora. Solid fighter,” Flores said.
Salita told Woods that he believes Flores is ready to face either boxer and physically prepared to fight Whyte in February, which is the target month for the British boxer's return.
“BJ is a top ten world ranked heavyweight ( No. 9 WBA), he has the NABA Heavyweight Title, and he also won his USA amateur national titles at heavyweight,” Salita said.
“Going back up in weight has helped him and will make him dangerous against all the top guys. Dillian Whyte didn’t look good at all in his last outing. BJ’s activity and world class experience is going to give Dillian lots of problems. BJ was one of the guys in contention for a fight with Alexander Povetkin in December, he is in the gym and ready to step in for a February spot versus Dillian.”

Flores is probably an ideal opponent for Dubois. Dubois would score a highlight reel knock out
of a "name". I think Whyte would get a tonne of criticism for fighting Flores and deservedly so.

Heavyweight contender?
Getting beaten at the division below, knocked the eff out in fact, then two fights against nobodies does not make a heavyweight contender. If Bellew can smack the shite out of him, Whyte and Dubios can too, easier.

He's got a decent stable. Including Big Bay Miller.

I guess that Flores has decided that being David Haye’s Miami toyboy doesn’t pay the bills...

bj flores fighting = me not interested. hes one of these guys who accomplishes nothing worth mentioning and loses vs anyone decent, yet still gets ranked and keeps his name getting mentioned. for dubois hed be suitable though.
btw journeymen are usually very experienced boxers. if flores lies down like he did vs bellew id say some journeymen out there would give dubois more of a work out.

He gets his act kicked in either one. At least he'd have the experience edge over Dubois and would likely be able to take him rounds, but that doesn't mean it'd be anything anybody wants to see.
