Re: Tyson Fury wants 60-40 split in his favor against Joshua
I don't like when people speak about money concerning boxing.
I'm here to watch 2 fighters, I don't care how much they gain.
However, I totally agree with Tyson Fury. In a fight between Fury and Joshua, Fury is the favorite and Josua the outsider.
Joshua should remember that he becomes IBF world champion only because Fury don't fight Glazkov.
If Fury was a little bit more serious, he would have beat Glazkov on January 2016 to defend his IBF and lineal world title and then he would have certainly beat Klitschko in the rematch for the IBF, IBO, WBO, WBA, the ring and lineal world title and I'm pretty sure that today Joshua would never be a world champion.
For Joshua fans, I like to see his fight but I think he's overrated. (I favor Wilder and Fury against him).

And you also favor Jeff Horn and Luis Collazo over Errol Spence I assume...izabelisk wrote: ↑22 Dec 2017, 15:35 I don't like when people speak about money concerning boxing.

Just because Buster Douglas dominated and knocked out Mike Tyson didn't make him an automatic favorite over Evander Holyfield... They still remembered Buster showing up for his fights in miserable condition and fat as a pig... getting tired and getting knocked out by 3rd raters like Mike White... and eating his way out of the Heavyweight Division.
And Wilder isn't going to come to your rescue either... Sooner or later DW has to fight a top Heavyweight and he's going down like a scarecrow who has 1 too many crows perched on him.

Negotiating a fight a year in advance? Stupid to even talk about, as Fury will take months to get back in shape and take a couple tune ups.
That said nothing wrong with him asking for 60/40. Got to start somewhere, and I'm sure he knows he won't get that. That is why they negotiate.

Tyson has stated he thinks AJ will lose to Wilder before he gets back into fighting shape. The fight he wants is against Wilder in a football stadium in Manchester. He doesn't see a fight against AJ as a possibility.

It's simply a negotiating tactic.
Fury tries to set expectations by demanding a high figure, whilst Hearn will initiate contact negotiations by proposing a lowball purse split figure, with both men inevitably agreeing to a compromise by finding middle ground somehow.
We've seen this happen time-and-time again. It's nothing new.

Re: Tyson Fury wants 60-40 split in his favor against Joshua
I don't think that at all it's just a starting point if Fury said he wanted 50-50 he'll be offered 25,% .the fury's aren't stupid when it comes to money Fury would be delighted with 40 % but press for 60 .
Re: Tyson Fury wants 60-40 split in his favor against Joshua
Anyone that signs a contract to fight Fury is deserving of the 60% portion of the split because there's definitely going to be a postponement at some point and perhaps a cancellation. The opposing boxer to Fury can expect to be tied up with his nonsense for at least 9 months of his career. Perhaps more.

Wlad wound up missing an entire year of his career because of Fury.caldo2025 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2017, 08:42 Anyone that signs a contract to fight Fury is deserving of the 60% portion of the split because there's definitely going to be a postponement at some point and perhaps a cancellation.
