Re: THE SIZE OF BOXIGN GLOVES.
I do know that the standard for a long time was 6 oz. gloves.
I believe somewhere around the 60's (following the Griffith vs Benny Paret fight I'd imagine) is when it got bumped up to 8 oz. gloves.
Fighters from either Jr. Middleweight or Middleweight (I forget which) onward where 10 oz. gloves in the modern era.
Fighters from Welterweight on down still wear 8 oz. gloves.
Nobody uses 6 oz. gloves anymore, but back in the days of Johnson/Willard fight I believe 6 oz. gloves was the standard across the board.
If I'm wrong on that, feel free to correct me somebody.
