VIPBoxing.comn News (Murray -v- Mitchell???)

Post by Stegsie »

JOHN MURRAY - The board yesterday nominated John to fight a British eliminator at Super-Featherweight with Kevin Mitchell . It will be interesting to see if this one happens.

JAMIE MOORE - The postponed fight with Mathew Macklin is now due for the 7th July 2006 , again at Altrincham.Sky just need to confirm this date is suitable , the venue is on hold.

ALI NUUMBEMBEE - When Jamie pulled out of the 5th May SKY show ,he stepped to the plate and offered to top the bill. We are currently negotiating for a title for Ali and also looking for a suitable opponent. Mathew Hatton was offered the job and it was turned down , although we are led to believe Mathew wanted the fight - maybe this is one for the future. Sky are still looking at our alternatives for the date and we hope to know shortly if we are running or not - we will keep you posted.

VIP PROSPECTS - If the 5th May Sky show is cancelled then VIP will run its own show at the end of May featuring 2 new signings and prospects already lined up for the show - Craig Bunn , Liam Dorrian , Alex Mattvienko and Mark Thompson. IT will be topped by Ali whilst he awaits his Commonwealth title fight - details next week.

Mitchell-Murray SHOULD happen - its a great fight for boxing but as both are somewhat potential 'golden gooses' in the eyes of their respective mangers/promoters I cant see it happening.

At this stage I fancy Murray but it could go either way. Hell of a fight :TU:

This fights a bigger fight then a Eliminator contest like previous posts give them another 12 months then let them fight for a bigger purse and possibly one will be a champion of sorts and will have a belt on the line, TV would love this contest.
Too early in both there careers to put it on the line.

Surprised the board put up Murray - Mitchell. Did they genuinely expect that to be made or are they having a dig at SN give how Mitchell will likely swerve it?

Whatever... I for one just hope it happens at some point. Those two are the prospects around that weight who I'd like to see fight most.

I notice the other Super-Featherweight eliminator the Board put up today was Burns vs Docherty. The BBBofC are a bit keen for proper domestic fights all of a sudden, aren't they? Here's hoping some come off.

Not sure how Murray deserves this chance.... Nothing about his ability but he has a title at Lightweight and I don't think has ever made the Super Featherweight limit.

Boxingchat, how can Ali fight Jennings for the commonwealth? when it is held by Anderson, doughball. More total nonsense from you.
