Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen

Post by Like a Boss »

Eddie Hearn has warned Tyson Fury to "sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen".

http://www.worldboxingnews.net/2017/12/ ... n-t-happen

I think Hearn has done a lot for the betterment of boxing. But he is simply overstepping the mark here.

Sounds like desperation from Eddie. I think Tyson would be better off signing with someone else as Eddie would look to fast track him into a fight with AJ to get him out of the way.

Fury probably should sign with Hearn.

Its not just the Joshua carrot, Eddie could have him on PPV against Bellew or Whyte by the end of 2018 :o

Tedward knows Fury won't sign with him, which gives him an excuse to avoid sacrificing Joshua's 0 vs Fury.

Even if Fury did call Eddieward's bluff, he'd find a way to avoid putting AJ in against Fury.

I sense that AJ is exerting a lot of control over Hearn now as demonstrated by the top of the table press conference thing last week with Okolie. I know he works with Lawrence but there was something that smacked off sucking up to / buckling to / fear of AJ.

Hearn even pre-empted AJ muscling in on other deals in the future by saying in interviews how he hopes AJ will become more part of Matchroom and all other promotions to be part of the whole set-up. To me sounded like he knows what is coming and wants to make it sound like he wanted it in advance.

So my point to this thread is that if AJ says "Make the fcking fight", Hearn will make the fight no matter what. They seem terrified of losing AJ as he may be part of the glue holding it all together, especially in the face of rising challenges from BT

Joshua leaving matchroom is the only way around it.

I have little doubt this 'offer' from Hearn is for all the wrong reasons as far as Tyson Fury goes.

Joshua is no longer just Hearn's puppet. That is becoming clearer by the day.

Hearn will adjust to keep Joshua in his stable. It’s an obvious and smart move.

Fury should probably sign with Hearn. He’ll make Fury a richer man than the others can. It would also be in Hearn’s interest to have Fury looking good to help build the Joshua fight.

Fury isn’t a draw, well, he hasn’t been yet. The Wlad rematch ticket sales show that

Fury should stay with Mick and Joshua should go over to Mick as well. He can make the big fights happen

If Fury signs with Hearn he'll be rushed into a fight with AJ as it's huge money when he clearly needs at least a couple of warm up fights beforehand.

It would be the cleverest thing to do, look at Froch when he had enough of Micks blunders.

I dont think so. I think he will make way more money in his warm up fight/s possibly a PPV against Bellew or Whyte then AJ. Hearn wants maximum return, a rushed one off with AJ is bad business. A close fight with AJ win or lose, then a mega rematch is good business. Hearn does good business. A lop sided loss no one wants to see a rematch of.

Yes, exactly and part of my whole point. Co-promoting? And what will he be doing? Hearn is doing anything to keep hold of him. (With the rewards in offer, I don't blame him)

Fury is not a reliable fighter/person to say the least - trying to build a schedule around him is a thankless task. If I was Hearn I would be more than happy to let Warren deal with Tysons BS and if by some miracle he can prove to be reliable over say 2 fights on BT then Eddie should be looking to make the AJ fight.

Yup AJ is Hearns boss now, doesn't matter who Fury signs with, if AJ wants the fight it will get made.

Fury can sign with whoever he likes and as long he gets fit and looks good in a couple of comeback fights.....then the Joshua fight will happen due to public demand. Its an unavoidable fight as long as both men keep winning. They both need the fight to maximise their cash and they both need it to validate themselves as thee heavyweight champion.
