Perhaps not.tiny_acres wrote: ↑25 Dec 2017, 01:00Exactly!!! 1 or 2 fights Fury will be mandatory.Black Sam Bellamy wrote: ↑25 Dec 2017, 00:38 Fury can get himself into a mandatory position with or without Hearn ?
It was pretty obvious that the IBF didn’t want their belt on Fury and he vacated before we were able to see if the others were going to make it tough for him to hang on to their belts.
Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
If Fury is serious about the offer mentioned in the article then he's clearly not serious about the fight. Wanting 60/40, second walk, second announcement and Top name on poster isn't happening against Joshua. They signed for the same opponent; Joshua sold out Wembley and Tyson couldn't get anywhere near selling half the Manchester Arena. It's very, very obvious who is the money maker in the fight.

Sounds like Hearn is going quack quack quack.

Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
Eddie should have a bit of discretion really, this 60/40 stuff is just the bog standard, prelim opening stand of a negotiation. What is Tyson expected to do, say he'd gratefully accept 25%, a raft of options, 2nd billing, etc ? It was in a private conversation with Eddie, and there goes Eddie, telling the media and mocking Fury.
Eddie has done a lot of good for the game - and make himself a fortune from it too no doubt - but stuff like this is annoying and kind of makes me root for AJ to kick him into touch in 2018. I'm sure all sorts of things are suggested during private negotiations, and most of them shouldn't see the light of day.
I definitely sense insecurity in the way Eddie has been talking about him and AJ recently. Obviously Fwank is on the wind up, suggesting if the contract is up, he'd like to talk to AJ himself about working together, maybe the very remote possibility of that happening concerns Eddie just a tad.

Much of that is true, but I expect that Fury's drawing power will be greatly increased because of interest in the comeback.dirk2686 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 05:30 If Fury is serious about the offer mentioned in the article then he's clearly not serious about the fight. And in many ways Joshua needs Fury more than Fury needs him. That linear status means a great deal historically. As it stands Joshua cannot claim to be the man who beat the man etc......I think this is a 50/50 fight on the negotiating front.
Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
I've said elsewhere but if Fury reverts to type and adopts the same style as before then it's just not feasible to suggest he'll suddenly become popular.lurkyshaka wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 09:28Much of that is true, but I expect that Fury's drawing power will be greatly increased because of interest in the comeback.dirk2686 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 05:30 If Fury is serious about the offer mentioned in the article then he's clearly not serious about the fight. I completely accept interest in his return will be decent but he's not got a really fan friendly style that translates to selling tickets.

Totally agree and he's not going to change style now is he .dirk2686 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 10:10I've said elsewhere but if Fury reverts to type and adopts the same style as before then it's just not feasible to suggest he'll suddenly become popular.lurkyshaka wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 09:28Much of that is true, but I expect that Fury's drawing power will be greatly increased because of interest in the comeback.dirk2686 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 05:30 If Fury is serious about the offer mentioned in the article then he's clearly not serious about the fight. Will only end one way if he does .
I still don't think he'll come back with any serious threat to any of the top boys and that is if at all .

I think Fury was always a mixed bag really....sometimes he'd be fan friendly, other times not so much. The win over Klitschko wasn't exciting, just totally effective. But when/if he returns it'll likely be against some lower level operator who he'll be able to be aggressive and entertaining against.dirk2686 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 10:10I've said elsewhere but if Fury reverts to type and adopts the same style as before then it's just not feasible to suggest he'll suddenly become popular.lurkyshaka wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 09:28Much of that is true, but I expect that Fury's drawing power will be greatly increased because of interest in the comeback.dirk2686 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 05:30 If Fury is serious about the offer mentioned in the article then he's clearly not serious about the fight. His style isn't as exciting as Joshua's, but Fury is a controversial character and that can of course sell. Mayweather was often accused of being safety first and less than thrilling, but he made a fortune on his persona and I think Fury can follow that kind of path. And the thing with Fury is he's not contrived or putting on an act. He's genuinely a character and his profile has risen and is building now in anticipation of a clash with AJ.

I don't like Fury much, but is Hearn in any position to demand he sign?
Though I'm sure he'd appreciate the pay day, I don't think Fury needs Joshua. Such is his notoriety, he could probably sell against anyone.

I think they need each other. The amount of money a fight between these two would generate would be massive. Can't see any other fight out there for either fighter that would be anywhere near as big
Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
Fury is notorious to the casual fan, (and like them or hate them, they have to be involved to take a fighter to the top in terms of money), for his horrible boring stinker against Wlad.
Joshua sold out a stadium against Takam. Tyson against the same opponent doesn't sell out a venue a quarter of the size.

Fury is still lineal champion in many peoples eyes, its a huge fight, the biggest out there
Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
I like you Mickey, largely because you're the sort of guy who'd allow Fury to take a dump on your Christmas dinner and swear blind it made it taste nicer.mickey1975 wrote: ↑28 Dec 2017, 09:31He never sold out.... But there's absolutely no doubt here at all; Joshua is leagues ahead of Fury regarding popularity.

Well, I don't like you. Aren't you bored by going on and on about Joshua? Why does it hurt so much that Tyson is the lineal champ?
Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
There hasn't been a lineal champ since Lewis retired, there hasn't been an undisputed champion since.mickey1975 wrote: ↑28 Dec 2017, 18:52 Well, I don't like you. Aren't you bored by going on and on about Joshua? Why does it hurt so much that Tyson is the lineal champ?

Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
The truth is that if Fury signs a multi-fight deal with FW/BT, then the fight suddenly becomes very difficult to make. Hearn might not have sugarcoated it, but it's true.
Re: Hearn warns Fury: Sign with Matchroom or Joshua fight won't happen
When you boil it all down Joshua could have 2-3 warm ups prior to boxing Wilder in 2019 very easily.
Telling me the networks wouldn't be interested in a string of knockouts for a Heavyweight champion for the 2108 schedule ... damn right they would especially if it resulted in a unification too.
Fury has cards at the table but he's not fully loaded himself on this one.
