Boxrec forum heavy weight top 15 2017

Post by Heretic »

Since there is no more forum top 15 HW list I thought we could make one for the years end.

To vote for the top 15 just post your own top 15 HW list on this thread.

I will compile the list before the year ends.

To keep things simple don't put champion on the list. You champ is simply your number one guy.

Lets see if we can make better list than the nonsense ABC orgs :box:

It was a fluke. Del forgot to leave it all in the ring and came on strong too late. That's my story and I'm sticking to it :D

I just don't think Hammer or any of names that haven't made my 15 have done better than beating Haye recently. Unless I'm just missing someone. Hammer was close to getting ahead of him, Kabayel was close too. Duhapas, Wach, Dimitrenko, Zhang, Rivas, Schwarz, Chisora etc etc etc were further back. Half of them are even worse than Bellew at HW and the other half haven't proven if they are better yet or not.

Hopefully Kabayel or someone kicks on a bit from here, and Ruiz and Tyson Fury come back soon so a list like this can have a little more quality overall. But till then Bellew and Hammer will have to do for #14 & #15.

Yeah, I guess you have a point. It's a sorry state of affairs outside the top ten (or even 8) and most can agree on the top ten, it gets grey right after that though.

The one thing we are all very agreed on is the first 7 or 8, barring a spot or two.

I have to agree that ranking from 10 onwards is pretty much just about personal preferences.

I don't know what happened to the real list... Maybe Jezz just got fed up on updating it or to the forums... Which would not surprise me

My list is bit different than some... I don't rate Wilder that highly. Hes still avoiding any credible opposition. Ortiz is another one who I feel like hasn't been so hot lately... Age catching up on him?

Here is mine...

1. Anthony Joshua
2. Alexander Povetkin
3. Kubrat Pulev
4. Joseph Parker
5. Luis Ortiz
6. Deontay Wilder
7. Carlos Takam
8. Jarell Miller
9. Dominic Breazeale
10. Christian Hammer.
11. Dillian Whyte
12. Bryant Jennings
13. Hughie Fury
14. Andy Ruiz
15. Lucas Browne

They should fight more often eachother, not only the pomps; so we can shorten the list, and for sure more attractive!!

Mine is based on what I think they deserve at this point, not necessarily who I think would win between them. Some are based on potential. Some left off because of being over-rated in my opinion. Bottom half much tougher to pick than top half.

1. Anthony Joshua

3. Deontay Wilder
4. Joe Parker
5. Jarrell Miller
6. Alexander Povetkin
7. Carlos Takam
8. Andy Ruiz

Does anyone who voted for Kownacki to be in top 15 want to make case for him?

Do you see him as being some awesome talent?

Is he there for beating Szpilka? The same mister pin who got easily beaten by Jennings and went life and death against Mollo... Twice?

Other names in hes resume don't ring any bells to me. I have only seen the Szpilka match where he looked good against very average opponent.

I am bit surprised to see him on so many of the lists :maybe:

10-15 are a clusterf@cK. really poor. doing this makes you realise how sh!tty the dvson is outsde the very top. jennngs despite his inactivity i couldnt leave him off. better some good wins a few years ago then nothing good at all. theres far more to bj than guys such as adam the pole browne etc

1 aj
2 wlder
3 pov
4 ortz
5 pulev
6 mller
7 joe p (maybe even generous as imo you can argue he lost 2 of last 3)
8 whyte
9 takam
10 breazeale
11 duhaupas
12 hughe
13 jennngs
14 hammer
15 bellew (aside from haye i give some hw rating credibility to wins over decent cws. id bet a guy such as illunga and masternak could prob be around top 50 as hws)

at 16 id prob have the turk who beat chsora or browne

you menton you rate on who deserves what but how do Kabayel bryan schwarz mansoure Kownacki browne etc deserve ratngs if pulev doesnt. you rate the following guys instead of pulev

bryan: never beaten anyone of note and doesnt impress at all. best win a decision over derrick rossy, who pulev stopped in 5 in 2011.

kaybayel: only win of note over chisroa, who pulev beat easier. pulevs got a much stronger record overall

schwarz: done nothing

mansour: at 9!? he barely could beat travis kauffman and was getting beaten up last fight by a fat unranked guy with 11 fights. mansours very lucky that fight ended when it did.

knownacki: a fatty whose only notable win over a guy who couldnt win a round vs jennings and was ktfo of the year by wilder

browne: struggled with juluis long and down 8-1 when he came back to beat washed up chagaev
