hes a natural combo puncher and puts his shots together nicely.

has a full range of power shots and works the body and head. one of the better and more regularly used uppercuts of today.

good hand speed, stamina. can stay busy, chin seems solid but nit really tested vs a big hitter.

weaknesses, well technically he can be kind of messy. throwing wide, from too far away, etc.

also his feet seem a bit plodding even though his hands are quick. might be a guy who struggles with a good mover. groves will be interesting in that regards.

power about average. for him its more landings lots and landing power shots, often loaded up. last fight was the first time hed shown any oomph vs a decent opponent.usually its been standing accumulated stoppages.

my money is on him vs groves but groves is a really good test of where hes at now.if he can deal with a heavy handed jab and mover its a really promising sign.he previously had issues with bjs movement but was very green at the time.also will be first major chin test.

eubank imo wouldve beaten ggg had they fought instead of brook. face defense wouldve been eating shots all night.

i think froch said its close to impossible for groves to beat eubank though froch does seem to have it out for georgie

willie monroe had ggg eating shots utilizing eubanks style.beubank is far better at it and at minimum wouldve landed tons.

Yea for that ages ago. Froch went on record this year saying in that session he couldn’t put a dint in Eubank. Probably wearing 16 ounce gloves but you can still hit hard in them. Plus if he’s like his dad he has a chin.

Eubank got a great engine, seems to be always looking fit too. Another reason why he can beat groves.

sparring im not sure of. for example ive seen a glass chinned guy ilshat khusnulgatin do a bunch of rounds with kovalev no problem when he wouldnt make it out of 1 in a real fight.but eubank has never so much as wobbelled in a fight, so no signs of being chinny, though groves is by far his biggest chin test being a good 168 pound puncher, esp. with counters

I rate sparring....especially if you can see some of it. Sparring = boxing. Better gauge then hitting pads.

sparring counts but imo greatly downplays chin problems specifically. no way a guy like ilshat is taking anything like that from kov (bigger hitter than froch) in a real fight w/o being ktfo almost immediately. i think eubank will be just fine chin wise though.

Eubank Jr has quickly matured into a great SM. No obvious weaknesses, just great all-round ability.

By the highest standards, like GGG, he is a little predictable in his foot movement. He also tends to wear down his opposition with his fantastic work rate rather than one shot power. In fact his work rate is second to none.

Similar to GGG but with slightly less accuracy. Only the very best can hope to beat him. I think Groves will have more than his hands full if Chris can just show him a little respect. Right now he also has the correct level of confidence and respect for the opponent needed at this level.

Tactically we might see a replay of GGG v Canelo, but Groves will have less time than Canelo did.

If you could combine the best of Groves and Eubank you'd have the perfect boxer.

Eubank has great speed and punch agility. Seems very fit too.

Weakness?? not sure really would be nice to see him get hit on the chin to establish what his resistance is like.

Groves will crack him m sure so that question should get answered. Groves won't beat Eubank I'm quite certain of that.

On the plus side;
Engine
Training- varied trainers, top sparring.
Dedication and courage

On the minus;
Ego- he is a little overconfident without the resume to back it up.
Aggression- uses offence as defence combined with workrate. A good counter puncher would take advantage of that.

Chris Eubank's strengths are speed, punching power, toughness, strength, and good boxing ability.... He should beat Groves very clearly and probably stop him... His weakness is his father... His dad's grandiosity, pretentiousness, verbal affectations and general pompous behavior make it more difficult to take Eubank seriously as a world class boxer.

The smartest move was to get Sr. out of the corner because he always had some dumbness to contribute... I think Eubank is a lot smarter than his father, but there's also a lot of cockiness and a tad bit of grandiosity there... That's not good.

I also don't think he's a big Super Middleweight... I think he can make 160 but you don't move back down after having several fights at 168... You take care of business at 160 before moving up.

Have you ever actually watched Eubank Jr, he's not a power puncher, and his boxing is technically pretty poor, he falls in with his shots a lot, and has poor balance, which in turn robs him of power.

Yes, Spike is a big puncher at middleweight though and Eubank recovered well.
Groves us better than Spike in every single department, so will be interesting to see if he could succeed where Spike failed.

Id say Eubank is physically very strong, appears to have an excellent chin, has excellent stamina, and can put together a fine array of shots.

However, he lacks any defence, relying on overwhelming people with volume of shots, and he has slow feet as well as poor balance which leaves him open to counters.

His lack of amateur experience means his skills are never really going to progress far from where they are now, but I reckon he's probably be good enough to win a belt against a weaker champ.

After saunders last showing, I don't think Eubank has any chance of beating that version of BJS. The level of fitness made a huge difference as BJS didn't have to take long periods off to preserve his stamina.

Good one James :TU:
Said way better than I could.
His offence as defence has worked well so far. I expect that to be shown up by Groves, the latest version of BJS would really show it up.

Strengths: work rate, good right uppercut, seems to be fairly solid round the whiskers, punches in bunches and a good engine.
Weaknesses: doesn't really have a jab (groves will definitely win that battle) can be outboxed and accuracy ain't he best.. 50/50 fight vs Groves as Eubank only fought one world class fighter and lost that...

You're full of it... He has good power .... good technique .... doesn't fall in .... is well balanced .... and doesn't cheat himself of power... You definitely have no idea what you're looking at.

Eubank's only loss was to Billy Joe Saunders when he was 18-0 in a fight he clearly wasn't ready for cuz of his lack of amateur and professional experience... But that was a SD in a close fight that could have gone either way... Eubank DID have a few problems at that time... He didn't have a stance or a jab and he walked straight in looking for the KO.

He's corrected all that and is getting better with every fight... He a Hell of a lot better than his father, who got tagged up with about everything and lacked the speed, balance, and athleticism of his son.
