Q. Who holds (by my reckoning) the record for the most appearances on the cover of The Ring in a single year - and how many appearances was it?
Q. Which future US Presidents appeared on the cover of The Ring?
Q. Name the female fighters to have appeared on the cover of The Ring?
(extra points for naming the issues)
Ring Magazine cover questions
Re: Ring Magazine cover questions
I haven't seen the issue, but the only President I'd imagine The Ring would've had any reason to do a story on would've been Trump because I assume there were fights held frequently at his "Trump Taj Mahal" in Atlantic City. In fact I know there were.
I'm sure Christy Martin probably made the cover at least once. Laila Ali too possibly.

Well done - Donald Trump was on the July 1988 cover (top right corner) - but there's another another future US President who featured on the cover
Neither Christy Martin or Laila Ali made the cover but (by my reckoning) there's been 3 female fighters on the cover
Re: Ring Magazine cover questions
Would it have been FDR posed along with Joe Louis during WW2?
Just a guess on that, but it seems like something they might've done.

What about Lucia Rijker or Mia St. John? Claressa Shields may have as well given her 2 Gold Medalsgilgamesh wrote: ↑27 Dec 2017, 15:46 I haven't seen the issue, but the only President I'd imagine The Ring would've had any reason to do a story on would've been Trump because I assume there were fights held frequently at his "Trump Taj Mahal" in Atlantic City. Re: Ring Magazine cover questions
It was Eisenhower, Gen. Dwight D on the Feb 1944 cover
The 4 female fighters who have appeared on the cover are (to my knowledge)
Nicola Adams (Dec 2016)
Ronda Rousey (Jan 2016)
Lucia Rijker (Jan 1998)
Cathy Davis (Aug 1978)
Ali was on the cover 10 times in 1975
....if I'm wrong on any of the above - please correct me!

Re: Ring Magazine cover questions
Why Roussey, considering she's MMA?
I guess they wanted a pretty face to sell magazines when she was still a hot commodity.
Why didn't they use Laila Ali's pretty face? At least she was a boxer.
Incidentally, now that Roussey's MMA glory days are behind her, she'll take the plunge and do what many faded athletes do when they need a paycheck.
Join the WWE for limited appearances.
How long before McGregor joins her?

That's not going to happen and you know it... Those folks have made their money...
Conor's going to continue MMA and Boxing... He knows he screwed up the weight making and conditioning aspects of Boxing - because he was boxing Floyd's ass off for 3 rounds... Robert Byrd was Floyd's mother hen in there... And to a degree McGregor screwed up technically because he has no stance or defense for the straight right...
But even experienced boxers like De La Hoya can screw up weight making royally... And he has the money to hired a great boxing coach... I expect him to win his next foray into the Boxing world.
