US broadcasting team

Can someone tell me who the US broadcaster who works on Top Rank Australia? He’s got a gruff, deep voice but is brilliant. He is well known I think but I don’t know his name.

It’s not Teddy or Joey T but it is bugging me. I know he commentated on Horn V Gary C most recently....

Some people love that guy.

Just as many despise him.

Sheridan really doesn't move me one way or the other.

I know that he's been broadcasting major fights since the mid-1960s.

As an aside that's certain to anger many fans here, Sheridan in recent years has called Mayweather the best fighter he has ever seen.

Strangely he said that even though he scored the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight a draw.

The so-called Colonel. Count me as one who doesn't think much of his shilling for the house fighters. Something about his voice grates on me too. Nowadays there are too many guys doing a single fight. Used to be one commentator and he kept his mouth shut when he didn't need to talk. Now you've got four or five voices competing with each other, talking constantly.

Sheridan often works alone, especially on some of the legendary fights he's called.

I haven't heard his work on TR Australia, so I don't know if he's part of a broadcast team.

I do agree that there's often too many voices covering a fight. Many of them quite worthless.

Network producers have lost track of the beauty of television.

You can actually see what's going on. It's not radio.

You don't need 4 guys telling you what you just saw with your own eyes.
