Zolani Tete open to facing Naoya Inoue at Bantamweight

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Zolani Tete says he is willing to take on unbeaten two-weight World Champion Naoya Inoue should he move up in weight.

Inoue defends his 115lb World Title against Yoan Boyeaux this weekend in Japan, but he's reportedly planning to move up to Bantamweight, where Tete holds the WBO belt.

When asked on Twitter if he would face the avoided 24-year-old, Tete replied: "Those are the kind of fights we're looking for. I'm ready to fight anyone in the Bantamweight division."

Excellent fight. Given Inoues level of opposition the last 2/3 fights he'd probably want a tune up at Bantam before going in with a top level operator like Tete but fingers crossed the fight can be made at some point in 2018. Tete will more than likely have to travel to Japan unless any US to networks are willing to splash out on the fight?

This might be a silly question although I'm not in the know and may have missed it on another thread but is Tete still with Frank?

Fair play, missed that. I wonder if Frank could get the fight over here? I'd actually consider going to that, even though I've avoided fights for the past two years, due to the amount of drunk and coked up idiots I've seen.

How many fights have other people missed for the same reasons? I know it's a separate issue, it's perhaps better in another thread but I thought it was worth bringing up
