You definitely have no idea what you're looking at.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑28 Dec 2017, 06:17Have you ever actually watched Eubank Jr, he's not a power puncher, and his boxing is technically pretty poor, he falls in with his shots a lot, and has poor balance, which in turn robs him of power.Kalan wrote: ↑28 Dec 2017, 02:38 Chris Eubank's strengths are speed, punching power, toughness, strength, and good boxing ability.... He should beat Groves very clearly and probably stop him... His weakness is his father... His dad's grandiosity, pretentiousness, verbal affectations and general pompous behavior make it more difficult to take Eubank seriously as a world class boxer.
The smartest move was to get Sr. out of the corner because he always had some dumbness to contribute... I think Eubank is a lot smarter than his father, but there's also a lot of cockiness and a tad bit of grandiosity there... That's not good.
I also don't think he's a big Super Middleweight... I think he can make 160 but you don't move back down after having several fights at 168... You take care of business at 160 before moving up.
Eubank's only loss was to Billy Joe Saunders when he was 18-0 in a fight he clearly wasn't ready for cuz of his lack of amateur and professional experience... But that was a SD in a close fight that could have gone either way... Eubank DID have a few problems at that time... He didn't have a stance or a jab and he walked straight in looking for the KO.
He's corrected all that and is getting better with every fight... He a Hell of a lot better than his father, who got tagged up with about everything and lacked the speed, balance, and athleticism of his son.

Calling a guy with no jab, poor footwork, and no head movement and average power a good boxer with good power
He hit Blackwell six thousand times and couldn't even put him down

He loads up with his punches often and ends up looking very amateur when he misses. He's also uppercut-happy and that only works against low-level opposition.
His KO against that Turkish bum was actually quite amateurish. He stumbled into it andwas very wild until he landed that big shot. It was such a spectacular KO that people overlook how amateur he looked just before he landed it, but it really was a wild exchange.

True. His power isn't great. I'd say it's average for a top fighter. I doubt he'll knock out any top level comp.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑29 Dec 2017, 09:03 Calling a guy with no jab, poor footwork, and no head movement and average power a good boxer with good power![]()

I am anticipating Groves v Eubanks Jr more than any other of the impressive lineup of fights already lined up for the first quarter of 2018. Usyk v Briedis and Gassiev v Dorticos are right there though.

Only one real criticism, he tends to smother his work quite a bit, hasn't really fought anyone of note since Saunders. The long and short of it is we'll find out a lot more about him in his next fight alone than we did in the 10 before it.
