its strange with him. you get maybe only a few ppl who really overrate him, but then ppl like you and saad and caldo talk like loads of ppl are going on and on about him and wildly overrate him. i took the time to actually look at it--the number of threads on him, posts, etc. theres really not that many ppl crazy about him. its just a small few, who ppl keep engaging btw. and he gets just as much negative attention here as positive. look at guys like iron frost and caldo for that. they keep pov alive on boxrec just as much as anyone else.

Povetkin won't be around the top ten in a year or two. I for one will be very sorry to see him hang them up especially as we never got the opportunity to see him fight the best (other than the Klitschko fight for the WWF title) I hope he gets a swansong against Joshua.

Why will I be sad when Povetkin retires? Same reason I will be sad when Ortiz retires or Wilder, because the division is diminished anytime it loses a fighter who would stand a realistic chance of prevailing in a world title fight.

The only vaguely redeeming aspect of his retirement being the likely (please God) demise of this tedious thread which keeps reappearing under a slightly different heading with inevitable regularity, with the same people seemingly doomed to repeat the same mantra time after time.

I'm not saying that's true of a significant percentage of posts/posters but it happens quite regularly.

I sometimes wonder what proportion of posters are ever influenced by anything another poster might say, and with that in mind, why we persist in posting our opinions. That is absolute nonsense... He could have subpoenaed ANY authority from the WBC or VADA and simply asked them if Povetkin passed all his PED tests for Meldonium... They would have been forced to say yes to avoid perjury charges… Then he could ask him “Did Povetkin fail any PED tests for Meldonium." They would have been forced to say "No."

Then he could have hired ANY knowledgeable expert about drug testing... And there are thousands who are knowledgeable, Judd Bernstein cannot possibly bribe them all not to testify...and ask them... Boxing is the least of it. Talking about boxing is just an idle diversion, but it applies to important things just the same. When you engage in debate with someone, chances are your interlocutor is is ignoring you except for a key word or two that he thinks might come in handy when he responds to defend his (absurd) position - and as you say, myself included!

Good point.... Some lawyers will sell you out for a guaranteed profit - instead of working their ass off so you'll win.... A jury's verdict is always a risk.... The language barrier made it very difficult for Povetkin.... That's why you need a great interpreter so you can find out exactly what strategies, witnesses, and evidence your lawyer is going to pursue.... If he tells you it's an open and shut case and not to worry.... If he won't go over the whole strategy and case with you.... fire him immediately.

Can you explain how Povetkin's lawyer intentionally lost the trial? His lawyer was Russian, speaks russian and has represented World of Boxing in other legal matters.

All of the aspects of the trial are a matter of public record and are freely available to the public. None of what you said happened at anytime during the trial.

Also none of the samples were ever tested in Nevada.
