Wilder Ortiz in ON, March 3rd

Post by Taansend »

Somebody's 0 must go :box:

Good night of boxing. Brooks comeback, Harlem Benn fights, Kovalev defends, Bivol v Barrera & now this. Should be a couple of decent fights on the undercard too.

I do hope Ortiz is still up to it. Been so long it's almost an anticlimax.
And I will refrain from getting excited until they both get in the ring.

Taansend- if your excited about Kovalev's return, I suggest you have a look at his opponents resume

Personally I would love the fat Cuban to splatter Spiderman all over the canvas so that a million (well, about 100,000) casual American fans suddenly realise why he hasn't faced anyone of any note yet despite numerous title defences. Alas, I have a terrible feeling Ortiz is now too old to get out of the way of those wild bombs, massive difference in skill level be damned. Hope springs eternal..

I don't believe a word of it, Wilder would never dare that, not even when Ortiz is a milion years old.

Looking forward to this one. Sky will probably get the UK rights to further build toward AJ-Wilder later in the year.

I don't even really like Wilder, don't rate him either, but I hope he beats Ortiz. Fvck drug cheats.

I hope it goes ahead this time. Wilders luck has been awful recently. I can see Wilder lighting Ortiz up early.

I have no idea. Wilder has looked terrible everytime I've seen him fight anyone but Stiverne, but his power keeps bailing him out.

Ortiz looked very good until he signed for Hearn. Is he shot or just a bad couple of fights?

I want Wilder to win & look spectacular in doing so to build up a Joshua fight.

Rumour has it that he's older than his official age! I've never been overly impressed with him tbh. Wilder is pretty unconventional but he's a decent enough fighter. Has speed and power and an air of vulnerability about him even though he's still unbeaten. We've seen him get tagged but he's not really had his heart tested yet. He could be in some good scraps as he steps up in levels. Sounds strange saying that considering the amount of fights he's had and has been world champ for a good while now!

Exactly this and after that not Fury will be fought, but Stiverne 3, or Charles Martin, or they mix up the rankings again.

I see Wilder winning by stoppage mid rounds and Ortiz retiring.
Ortiz gives me the impression that he knows he has left it too late and is resigned to being an also ran.

ya its a shame for kov that barrera turned down kov multiple times for the shab and mikhalkin dates, and admits to it, even for several hundred grand and what would easily be his biggest win if he pulled it off.lets not go losing respect for kov because of that, like ive seen u say.bizarre to do that.

though barrera vs bivol is actually a better matched fight imo. personally feel bivol may be bit if a hype job and barreras a good test, could beat up bivol.
