Froch: I Have a Feeling Bivol Influenced Andre Ward To Retire
The entire light heavyweight division opened up in 2017, when unified champion Andre Ward unexpectedly announced his retirement from boxing.
Froch believes that a dangerous up and comer like Bivol, who at the time had clinched a mandatory ranking under the WBA, had influenced Ward to retire sooner than later.
Even Froch, who during his career had faced the very best opponents within his weight class, admits that he wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of Bivol's furious punches.
"I think Dmitry Bivol is going to be great. He has a cool and calm demeanour and he oozes confidence, but not arrogant or nonchalant, he is just relaxed. He is so precise, so accurate with his work, he's lethal. Put him in with Sergey Kovalev down the line and you will see how good he is," Froch told Sky Sports.
"I have a feeling Bivol helped Andre Ward make his retirement decision and I don't say it very often, but I've seen something in Bivol that I wouldn't want to stand in front of."

Is Froch ever going to say anything nice about anyone? Still bitter from his loss.

Will Bivol ever fight in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium though?
Re: Froch: I Have a Feeling Bivol Influenced Andre Ward To Retire
I think there's some truth to it. Bivol is a dangerous fighter who Ward only wants to fight if there's big money on the table. If he stays at 175 he has to fight him...if he retires he can let Bivol win a title and make it a bigger fight.
It's obvious to me.

He only said a nice thing about Bivol, using that against Ward. Sky televised Bivol's last fight and they are quite high on him.dirk2686 wrote: ↑01 Jan 2018, 08:31Did you read the article?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Jan 2018, 08:06 Is Froch ever going to say anything nice about anyone? Sounds like he was asked about Ward and was just giving his opinion, it's all true too.

Carl certainly wears his heart on his sleeve where Wards concerned- seems to get very wound up at the mere mention of his name
Re: Froch: I Have a Feeling Bivol Influenced Andre Ward To Retire
Probably because he knows it's the one blotch on his record he could never turn around.

That's what I mean and it really looks like it gets to him knowing that.
Re: Froch: I Have a Feeling Bivol Influenced Andre Ward To Retire
Thing is he's right , how many do actually watch reruns of Wards fights ,, Froch says he likes Gatti,, Ward type fighters , well people do rerun there fights there classics
Re: Froch: I Have a Feeling Bivol Influenced Andre Ward To Retire
I can see both sides here. I hated Wards style. He seems like a decent bloke but he fought like an 80's Italian - jab, grab, headbutt.
And Froch is bitter. He's a warrior who was frustrated by Wards style.
I love fancy Dan boxers but Ward was just frustrating to watch. Same as Mayweather after 2008.
Having great speed & boxing skills is one thing but negating a fight is just dull. Klitschko (Wlad) was the same even though he stopped fighters.
Fair play to them for being successful & getting out of the sport with money & brains but I won't be going back in 5, 10 or 20 years to watch their bouts like I do Leonard, Hearns, Benn, Eubank, Lewis etc etc

why give a f@ck if u can understand it anyway. its just some boxing forum we pass time on, not an important exam or professional document
Re: Froch: I Have a Feeling Bivol Influenced Andre Ward To Retire
Totally full of sh1t,froch wint praise anyone who he has fought and either beat him or gave him a run for his money, ward took froch to school and made his nose twice the size it usually is. Get over it froch ward beat you and you cried for a rematch but didnt really want it cause it never happenedRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Jan 2018, 07:57 The entire light heavyweight division opened up in 2017, when unified champion Andre Ward unexpectedly announced his retirement from boxing.

He got outboxed by Dirrell and refuses to admit he was lucky to get the decision and just labels him a runner and a shit fighter. The fella has an enormous chip on his shoulder.
