Possibly lost in translation?
I believe he was into flipping property or buy to let and did a lot of the work himself?
That's what I recall too

I think it's well known in boxing communities that most boxers work.

Some of the ones that manage to do it full time with sponsorship are surprising, that can often be the difference between someone being s top fighter to just being a good fighter.

Perhaps Carl can help Khan get his place a bit more marketable, it's been for sale for ages. I don't think the mosaic tiles in the pool appeal to the wider market

Its all down to your personal circumstances / commitments / standard of living.

I couldn’t quit my job tomorrow and survive on an EBF wage without lowering my standard of life.

EBF pay around same as BBU. BBU will pay £200-300 a fight plus around £10 per ticket sold . that fluctuates slightly, But in that ball park.

To make just £2000 a month, before tax, I’d have to fight 52 Saturdays of the year and have 20 fans coming to each fight (£300 purse plus £10 x 20 tixket sales = extra £200 revenue) . Not gonna happen.

A lot do personal training - frankie Gavin does PT.
When Hatton was active he was doing bits on the side - 2k for personal appearance etc...
Loads have jobs 99.9% of boxers

Hard to progress in that industry. It’s all about whether your face fits, well, whether your eyes fit . Wouldn’t have chosen the ‘two eyes looking through a letterbox’ outfit myself.
Also, you need a good jihadi name to make it.
Everyone’s heard of Jihadi John, but what a lot of people don’t know is he left the UK on the same flight as Jihadi Malcom. They were on the same induction course. By all accounts Malcom was the more promising extremist, but he was overlooked because his name didn’t strike fear into the hearts of the infidels.
