Why don't the other promotors try their fighters?

I know Witter and Froch failed to impress but their promotors could keep trying?

FA are arses if they think PPV is the way like they thought they could try if Calzaghe fought Woods.

If Haye wants to be a big star than terrestrial is the way surely.
Has this unclear "exclusive" deal with allegedly allegedly/ITV got anything to do with it?
Yes, this is what I wonder, when they say it is 'exclusive' from which end?

Does this only mean that Warren cannot have his fighters aired on any other UK based channel, or that ITV cannot show any or certain other promoters fighters?

Terence wrote:Yup, ITV can only show SN as far as I know...and if BBC sign a deal with someone they'll both probably spend a huge amonut of time/energy/money trying to fook one another up. Boxing is a sport of pure competition, pity the promoters cannot appreciate that spirit of mutual advancement.
Just like when the beed spent a fortune on a Carl 'Cobra' Froch advert instead of investing it in buying quality fights..

I doubt that ad cost a fortune, it looked like it had been done by Bunce's 4 year old niece.

What do you make of this? Possible they could be planning on setting up a deal with a HBO or a Showtime? Boxingchat, with all his wisdom, hinted at them focusing on delayed fights from the US, as long as that means next day delayed then it's not too bad

Dear Lenny

Thank you for your email about Boxing coverage on Sky.

Thank you for your email about Boxing coverage.

Sky Sports have assured their viewers that they will try to bring the best Boxing fights from all over the world, we are hopeful of confirming new deals to bring the best US fights to our channels during the months of May, June and July. However, this is yet to be confirmed.

Thank you for your interest in Sky.

Kind regards

That is far and away the most positive message I have seen. Hopefully they start it off with DLH-Mayorga.

I cancelled all three Sky Sports channels yesteray morning on the back of their recent and ongoing piss-take.

I hope the feckless wonders in charge pull their finger out for the rest of you, but personally I'm done with them for the forseeable future.

I'm not adverse to paying for a channel and helping to support the sport but I'm certainly not prepared to be pay for the current quantity and quality of coverage they've been getting away with.

My only regret is that I'll have to catch Haye's fights online from now on, along with the international coverage that's already available to those in the know.

Let's hope Fight+ gets off the ground as their scheduled coverage puts Sky to shame.

I also cancelled all skysports channels yesterday.gone down to basic £15 package. The Scottish sky operator asked me why I'm cancelling & I told him because of skys piss-poor boxing coverage. He then told me it cant be that bad because they just showed the Mayweather fight  ????what???

I like boxing, but i did not buy Sky because of boxing. Boxing was something extra that i enjoyed when it is on.

If you got sky sport package for boxing then you are wasting your money and alaways were.

Join the PPV boxing websites instead!
