Remember seeing that spar on the BBC documentary and wondered at the time who the lad was and thought he would go far .Roars Like Me wrote: ↑03 Jan 2018, 07:08 Good luck Scott, you are gonna need it. I like Valdez, he's the real deal.
I also remember seeing the Selby documentary when he sparred Valdez, Lee looked lost in there.
Yeah I know it's only a spar, blah blah blah:TU:
Didn't realize this was him , hard night Quigg if it gets made , but I'll always be rooting for him .

Valdez on points for me, especially having ‘home’ advantage.
I still think Valdez would win if it were in Manchester, but it wouldn’t be a foregone conclusion.

Valdez is a formidable champion......but Quigg can't really ask for a better style set up.
Valdez will come right at him, pressuring and looking to unload big hooks. Quigg can at least fight his preferred fight, where he can look to jab and counter with his own bombs. Tactically this suits him.
There are perhaps some similarities style wise between this fight and Quigg's fight against Kiko Martinez. Quigg of course on that occasion was able to run the aggressive marauder onto vicious shots which took him out. He'll be hoping for something similar against Valdez.
Both are very fit and busy, if someone doesn't 'go' over after being blasted, then this could turn into an attritional war. Its an excellent fight on paper. Solid ambitious matchmaking from both sides, may the best man win.

I reckon Quigg should gamble and get Tesco Joe back and then do nothing for rounds.

Valdez's fight is arranged for that date so if it gets agreed that's where it will be.
Be interesting to see what the purses end up being here (with it being in Cali they will release this info) with it being an ESPN show rather than a big HBO/Showtime show. Hopefully a few of our other fighters get stuck on the undercard.

Can't eddie just keep quiet until the fight is actually done and announced by top rank.
