Should W@rren try to work with Guillermo Rigondeaux at FW?

Post by wesshaw1985 »

W@rren has had Rigo appear on one of his cards before (vs. Jazza Dickens) and Loma/Rigo was on B0xNati0n.

Coming off Rigos loss and a potential move to Featherweight should W@rren attempt to work with Rigo to mix him with his own stable of featherweights?

maybe start him off with the loser of Selby vs. Warrington and build him from there.
W@rren could also take Rigo through the WBO rankings to face the winner of the potential Valdez/Quigg fight.

Rigo doesn't have a home and I would like to see W@rren create a base for him in the UK...

Don't know why anybody really cares. The next time Rigo's in an exciting fight it'll be the first. I suppose he's still got some name value to be used to lose to another young buck. Other than that Rigo's time is pretty much up in this sport. Boring guys had best keep on winning in this sport or it all comes crashing down fast.

Rigo is a 37 year old Featherweight. Which is about the equivalent of being a 48 year old Heavyweight. He's not coming back to prominence anytime soon.

You don't think Rigo gives any of the FW Champions a problem?

He still has the tools to beat most if not all guys at fw but the trouble is trying to get them top guys to take the fight. I don't see what Warren or any other promoter gets out signing him.

I think Rigo has name value and he can bring a title to W@rrens stable to create a unification fight or 2 with the likes of Frampton/Selby...

Yeah he could give 'em problems, but he's gonna be steadily going downhill at this point in his career. Santa Cruz vs Rigo would be interesting. Russell would take Rigo I figure.

Oscar Valdez vs Scott Quigg should be a good action contest, and I'd like to see the winner of that fight Rigo.

Ultimately though, I'd prefer to just see the top guys at Featherweight fight each other. Rigo is just kinda a name waiting for his next loss to me.

W@rren could pull his strings with the WBO to manoeuvre Rigo into a good position with the WBO to get him to the Valdez/Quigg winner in the future.
He brings that title back to unify with the Frampton/Selby winner for the IBF.
Could be interesting...

As poor as Rigo looked last time out, I still think it might take someone other than Lomachenko showing his weaknesses before anyone at featherweight fancies fighting him. There's still very little financial reward and now even less name value.

He just has to work his way to a mandatory position and force the champions to fight...
