This is possibly the highest skilled heavyweight fight possible since Klitschko stopped and Fury isn't in shape any more.

They are boxrec rank 1 and rank 2 for a reason.

Ditto............was never that sold on Povetkin in the first place and he's now a 38 year-old guy who ain't that busy and has largely done his fighting at home. Actually thought Marco Huck deserved a draw in their 2012 championship fight.

Sure, he's got some good names on there and is clearly no mug but I am with Boxerbeetle; AJ is way too big, young and powerful and fast for an ageing Povetkin and if it happens in the UK he'd get rinsed.

Not that I am expecting that......Povetkin will bide his time and do his thing in Russia and pick his moment/fight.

Joshua batters him, and I’m not sure Joshua is as good as some think. Povetkin is too small, too old and is well past his best, which wasn’t that of an elite heavy anyway

He certainly looked his best during that Takam / Perez period but he looked very ordinary before that (life and death with Huck, pasted vs Klit, horrendous defences against Boswell and the ghost of Rahman) and turgid in his two fights in 2017. He gets blown away in his next top level fight for me

i reckon hed still beat parker and most contenders.as mediocre as hes looked lately the divions really poor outside a few. guy like parker losing rounds to cojanu and arguably losing to obese andy and hughie, whyte being put through hell and barely beating chisora, breazeale having serious trouble with kassi, down 44-50 vs mansour, etc.

but aj and wilder bash him.

Yeah, that period he was juiced up, he was awesome. His run of KOs was better than any of the champs. Was funny how he suddenly turned it to a beast at 35, then reverted back to average when he was caught
