Re: Rio Ferdinand pro debut
Light heavy with the sound of it and Rio has said its only 1 fight.
Eddie Hearn has said Ferdinand has been nieve so im suspecting its not on one of his shows.
There are a few in February that are on Sky TV
Nothing as yet Tweeted by Ferdinand but info was on Talksport this afternoon.

Re: Rio Ferdinand pro debut
i have nothing against rio having a go at boxing its most likely a personal thing for him to see if he can hack it rather than a career it's not about money either as he's minted but it should be a well down the bill or on a small hall fight .
Re: Rio Ferdinand pro debut
Fournier would be an ideal opponent, a genuine competitive fight without fear of someone getting hurt.
Of course it should be a white collar event.

Re: Rio Ferdinand pro debut
Ill have more respect for rio if he fights someone and gets beat rather than fighting a carefully selected opponent as with Flintoff and beats him over 4 rounds on points.
As this is only a one off fight they are going to match him with a selected boxer who has very limited talent, but imo thats just a school yard bully going to work on someone inferior.
Of course Rio wants to win his one off fight but I just hope he actually fights someone with a heartbeat and either beats him sportsmanly or gets beat himself in a decent scrap.
