Luke Campbell vs. Daud Jordan in the works

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Reports out of Indonesia say Daud Jordan will face England's Luke Campbell in a WBA lightweight eliminator during the last week of February. Jordan (37-3) is a former IBO featherweight champion.

In 2009, Jordan hurt Robert "Ghost" Guerrero but the fight was ruled a no contest due to cuts sustained by Guerrero. Jordan, who also lost to Indonesian great Chris John, will train in Madrid under the tutelage of former WBA light heavyweight titlit Gabriel Campillo. Campbell (17-2) is coming off a failed WBA title bid against Jorge Linares.

Yeah, I thought the Mendy rematch was next after Linares. It is a ghost hanging over Luke's career. Needs to be exocised.

Mendy has been offered plenty of money, but won't sign.

Another win over Campbell would put him in line for a world title. What an idiot.

No one cares about this fight. Absolutely no reason why Campbell v Crolla should not be next. Campbell was mandatory for Mendy/Euro a while ago but pulled out.

Why would Crolla do it if its not for a title? If thats the case just just go and rematch Burns at least he could win.

Yordan was solid...a few weight classes lower down.

Yordans been around forever. I remember his fight vs Choi. Was a good close fight but the judges were all for the home fighter.

He's too small for a lightweight at this stage of his career.

Not a terrible fight. I was hoping for Crolla but Jordan is decent enough, would probably be Campbell's 2nd best win after Perez.

yordans one of those guys with a nice win ratio and win streak but against no one. and hes small. would be a totally uninteresting shutout or later stoppage.

Prime Mendez is better than Perez and Yordan but the Mendez that Campbell fought was past his best whereas Perez was coming off the years biggest robbery Vs undefeated Hooker.

I'd say it's his current 2nd best win though. A good scalp for him. I'd put it above Coyle and Sykes who are arguably his next to best wins.
