"[The possibility of breaking Mayweather's record] came across my ears from the people that's around me. It also had me think about it just a little bit. Those achievements.. and if I make it goal - it will definitely happen. I can easily beat all of those guys records, easily. I'm just stepping into the prime of my career. I just walked into the door. I mastered my craft. I know everything about myself in the ring," Wilder told Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports.
"And being able to have power, it makes all the difference. A lot of people think that I just rely on my power, but I don't have to rely on something that's naturally for me.... it's natural. Those goals definitely will be broken. It's not that its something that I'm seeking, but it would look nice on my resume. Hell, I might even pass George Foreman's record of being the oldest champion." from BS.
I have no single doubt that Wilder could be 100-0 with having opponents like Bermane Stiverne, Arreola, Szpilka, Harold Sconiers and Dustin Nichols.
Anyway I have to give Wilder his fair props for taking Ortiz although Ortiz is 38 y/o.
There's more to a record than just numbers. Even so, I don't expect Wilder to be able to hit 50-0 and remain unbeaten from there. Even against the level of opposition he's faced up to now.

Be carefull what you're saying, Bermaine once went to distance with him, Arreola send him to hospital, Szpilka was ahead in rounds at some point and Dustin Nichols knocked him down!

Bemaine was a better fighter then and Wilder was much greener then. An injury sent him to the hospital, not Arreola. Szpilkva was not ahead on points, and Sconiers knocked him down. Don't think Nichols did, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Sconers also? I didn't even know that, Szpilka was ahead on points in the early rounds.
Bottom line is Wilder was feasted with some of the finest tomato cans from the hw division! Now he man up and decided to fight a top veteran. What a brave champion!
There are two completely separate goals that Wilder can pursue, but he can only choose one of them.
1) Fight bums and beat Mayweather's record.
2) Fight good opponents and have a meaningful career.
