PTBF 2018 - Are you up to the challenge?

Post by Tanzio »

The PTBF 2018 (Pick The Big Fights) competition begins with Spence v Peterson, January 20. JCS created this great competition for boxing enthusiasts over ten years ago. He has done the hard work of maintaining and adjusting it throughout the years.

If there is a better online boxing related competition, I do not know of it. JCS’s PTBF is fun, simple, but does involve some strategy. After reading the rules and information thread, it takes very little effort to play.

People talk mad sh!t on here, touting their own boxing knowledge and belittling others’ incessantly. Why not put it on the line, head to head v your peers?

Are you up to my PTBF 2018 challenge? I am the PTBF 2017 champion, and I intend to repeat.

Bring it on!

Go to the Current Scene section. There are two PTBF threads pinned at the top, including one for the Spence / Peterson fight. Read the rules and standings thread first. Then make your pick using the proper format. Check each week for another fight. There are usually 35 - 50 fights each year. Be sure not to overlook using your 2X and 3X options strategically through the year.

Good luck!

:maybe: Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be king of the PTBF 2018 hill. Two fights on the board to pick pinned over on Current Scene. :box:

I think I’ll do it this year, I always end up missing the start and then not bothering to join in late. Reckon I’ll be crap at it tho

That is why I am being a bit of a pest about it. It would be great to get as many people as possible involved. It is a really excellent format that JCS put together.

Good luck!

 I knew it would happen. DSW has suggested a £5 per head side bet. How would that be made to work? I do not think that it could work in a way that could be easily maintained and fairly regulated.

I know that JCS is not going to keep track of it, and I do not trust unknown internet entities to live up to their wagers.

The PTBF is meant to be a fair, fun, diversion, in my opinion. Gambling / wagering on fights is available on many other online platforms that hold the participant accountable.

Join the PTBF 2018 competition to win v your peers. You never know if a prize may come out of the woodwork prior to PTBF #1, Spence v Peterson. :maybe:
