Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
issac dogboe would beat donaire. donaires mainly just a pretty name on a record now imo though frampton didnt look like much last time did he
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
Interesting cross roads fight.... Frampton should have too much but I don't think we should be writing off Donaire quite yet either. Some of Donaire's defeats IMO have been due to size, he's not really a Featherweight - but IMO neither is Frampton.
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
donaires also got several wins imo where size was a big factor. the size difference esp vs narvaez was big. i consider him a 'weight bully' in the past.
these days itsnot just that hes lacking the same size advantage though. he was still bigger than faded darchinyan and yet looked awful in the rematch and was 4 points down when he won in the second to last round. he also had hell with the guy dogboe just destroyed.
im not really that hot over frampton though either. think hell prob win a decision but not look great. just remember to keep perspective if ppl start hyping it based on donaires name as a former p4p fighter

Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
I still think Donaire can go to the well one last time.
Rigo outclassed him, Magdaleno used quick feet.
If Frampton stands in front of him I give Donaire a squeak.
I’d possibly edge Donaire over Dogboe at this moment in time.
Dogboe proved me wrong though. Saw him in the lead up to 2012. Didn’t envision him being this good. He’s come on leaps and bounds. Improves every fight, and the crowd he got in Ghana was refreshingly good and different to most. He’s hard not to like.

Will be an interesting fight. I expect Frampton to have to much for Nonito, it will be close for the opening rounds but then I expect the younger and fresher fighter to pull away on the cards.
I expect 116 - 112 cards for Frampton.

Donaire showed his limitations recently and looked content to plod to a decision loss. Hopefully thats not the case here because he can bully Frampton, especially if he has him intimidated by the left hook, which really did starch many an opponent, including giving convulsions to fernando montiel on the canvas

Carl Frampton vs Nonito Donaire undercard update
Undefeated prospects Crocker, Joyce, Ward, McCullagh, Maxwell, Williamson and Dickinson will feature on action-packed Carl Frampton vs Nonito Donaire undercard
Hard-hitting hometown Welterweight Lewis Crocker (4-0, 4KOs) will be looking to maintain his knockout streak following his first-round stoppage win over Hungarian Gyula Rozsas two months ago, fellow Belfast native Steven Ward (6-0, 2KOs) is coming off the back of a six-round points win over Przemyslaw Binienda of Poland, while Rio Olympian David Oliver Joyce (5-0, 4KOs) delivered one of his most impressive pro performances so far last November when the Mullingar man halted Barcelona-based Nicaraguan Reynaldo Cajina.
Derry Super-Bantamweight Tyrone McCullagh (9-0, 5KOs) is the fourth Irish fighter to be added to the card and he will be aiming to follow up an impressive win over previously-undefeated German Tom Tran in Belfast last month.
Former Team GB amateur star Sam Maxwell (5-0, 4KOs) is one of three English fighters set to cross the Irish Sea and the Commonwealth Games medallist could be looking to record his seventh victory on April 21 as he was this week added to MTK Global’s March 16 ‘Mersey Beat-Down’ bill in Liverpool following his third-round stoppage victory in Germany last November.
Heavyweight Alex Dickinson (3-0, 2KOs) is also scheduled to box in Liverpool in March before fighting in Belfast where he recorded his last win on the ‘Frampton Reborn’ card, while Darlington Middleweight Troy Williamson (5-0, 3KOs) makes up the undefeated prospects added to the bill.
The April 21 fight night will also feature three tasty all-Irish fights as Dubliner Jono Carroll (15-0, 2KOs) clashes with Belfast’s Marco McCullough (18-4, 11KOs) for the IBF European super-featherweight title, Tyrone McKenna (15-0-1, 6KOs) meets light-welterweight rival Philip Sutcliffe Jr (14-2, 9KOs), while WBO European champion Conrad Cummings (12-1-1) and Irish champion Luke Keeler(13-2, 5KO) will do battle at middleweight.

Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
Frampton will win by about that margin, but the story of the fight will be the other way around. Frampton is a frontrunner who always does his best work in the first 6 or 7 rounds. Donaire will have his best moments over the final 4 or 5 rounds, but he'll be too far in the hole to win the fight with anything short of a knockout.fightfan95 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2018, 06:53 Will be an interesting fight. Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
You could be right there. Nonito does like to finish strong. I just don't see Frampton starting as well as he normally does for some reason.. the first couple of rounds will be tight and cagey, maybe showing too much respect to Nonito.gilgamesh wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 17:25Frampton will win by about that margin, but the story of the fight will be the other way around. I'm expecting a big performance from Frampton here. Stoppage between 5-7. Can't wait.
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire - April 21st 2018
Frampton will probably start even better than he normally does. Donaire is an easier opponent than LSC or Quigg at least at this point in his career.fightfan95 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2018, 05:23You could be right there. Nonito does like to finish strong. Donaire's just kinda been a name for the other big names to defeat for the last couple of years. I'm surprised fights with him are still treated as big events. He has been smart enough to maintain his status with wins over decent fringe contenders though in between losses.

Even if Frampton went all out and Donaire did too Donaire would still go the distance. Frampton hardly stops anyone as you said.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Mar 2018, 11:55I doubt he stops him. Frampton hardly stops anyone. He usually likes to box. Donaire will be careful and take him 12 rounds I reckon.
Very skilled boxer, but not much of a puncher. if somebody is gonna get a KO here I'd expect it'd be Donaire, but Donaire ain't really the puncher that his reputation suggests either.

I don't really see the point in this move. Fair enough if they were looking to take on Valdez next but I thought it's more or less decided Frampton will be taking on the Selby/Warrington winner should he get past Donaire?
I like the Valdez fight for Frampton though. Fingers crossed that one happens somewhere down the line.

Why not just call it an eliminator? instead of creating an additional belt. The fight is an eliminator for the IBF as well. You never see IBF creating an Interim belt..Stuarty wrote: ↑22 Mar 2018, 06:10I don't really see the point in this move.
