Is it possible for someone to lose 10 stone and overcome 2.5 years of bad living to reach the pinnacle of the sport again ?

At 29 years old, absolutley. But it takes hard work and dedication. Something we are yet to see since his victory over Wlad

Surely if he had any dedication as well we'd be seeing it in his shape? He's had a long time out but we're more than eighteen months gone since he was out on the drink at the Euros for example. He could be walking around now at fighting weight looking serious - instead he looks like a fat guy who struggles to do anything more strenuous than sitting still.

furys dreaming if he thinks hell beat josh . he never wouldve even at 100 percent w/o inactivity. aj wouldnt be afraid to throw punches or get hit with flicking jabs.

if fury ever actually did beat aj can you imagine mickey

but as far as getting in shape, yet to see anything close to it. remember that even when active he had weight issues. its not like this was always in shape joshua.

That's how i see it,Joshua would have nothing to fear so would just walk straight in unloading bombs.

After his absence and weight gain etc. Fury really needs at least 3 or 4 fights before thinking of facing Joshua.

The problem is that this could take 2 years - I think that Tyson himself knows that he is not likely to keep his motivation etc. for that long and needs to talk his way into the fight as soon as possible.

I reckon he could get motivated if the fight was arranged for 6 months time and would turn up fit and on weight, but I cant see him keeping it up for the next 2 or 3 years.

:OhYes: I know. He's the only celebrity I could really think of who'd lost 10st.

Andy Fordham sprung to mind but he never again topped the darts world.

He's had much less stamina issues than Joshua though.

Joshua's 'stamina issues' appear to entirely consist of taking a couple of rounds to recover from a very heavy decking against Wlad - and nothing else.

You can be well conditioned and still fat. He will lose fat anyways when training but being aestheticly pleasing has nothing to do with how fit you are. Aj always gasses probably due to his excessive muscle mass which takes up too much oxygen.

Youre correct about him not being afraid to take Furys punches though which makes it an interesting fight

Nonsense

Part of the concerns for his stamina arise from him, in bunces words, leaning exhausted against the ropes after he floored Wlad, trying to finish Wlad left him worse at the end of that round than Wlad. IIRC Wlad won the next round rather easily despite having been floored.

I thought Joshua was staggering around at the end of round 5 because Klitschko nailed him with a superb left hook as he came in to finish the job after the KD.

That and his stamina. Let's not kid ourselves, Joshua barely did anything after getting wobbled in round 5 until his major breakthrough in round 11 - Compubox records him throwing no more than 25 punches in any of the following 5 rounds (round 8). When you're getting outworked through rounds 6 to 10 by a 41-year old, there must be question marks!

That’s true, Fury has never been aesthetically pleasing but has always been fine stamina-wise.

The fat will fly off him on a keto diet. Seems a good idea easing in to training aswell. I weigh 18 stone at the moment, tried some skipping before my usual weight routine an got shin splints after 3 sessions. Hate to think the effects of training at 24 stone has on your joints an cartilage

It's all been perfectly explained why he isn't training full throttle.

Surely he was in better shape for that fight than he is likely to be if he ever fights again ?

He was a young man then and I dread to think how the last few years will take their toll on him .

ya he was tired for sure, looking exhausted at times. it was the rematch. got a second wind but hes definitely been tired before for being too heavy. he was at least as tired as aj vs whyte (or takam) and aj been pro like just barely 2 years then too and hdnt been past 3 or 4.

were talking about someone whose commitmment was already very iffy
