Great, same night as Frampton, then there’s other weekends with no boxing on,

I've seen people on this forum claim Khan is the biggest name in UK boxing second only to AJ. Can someone explain why and how??

From what I see the guy is a complete idiot, been down on the canvas in more positions than a German porn star and spent the last 5 years wanking (sometimes publicly) over a potential fight with FMJ.

Why does this guy get the time of day that he does? Baffles me

Haven't seen the echo arena sold out for boxing since the Price hype days, there was even empty seats at Bellew vs Cleverly. Be interesting to see if Khan can fill it.

He's probably the 2nd or 3rd best well known, behind Joshua and just a head of Eubanks son.

I like him. The fact he's thick and talks rubbish doesn't bother me, rarely in a bad fight and fought some cracking fighters win or lose. Kotelnik, maidana, judah, Peterson, garcia, Diaz, algieri, collazo, Alexander and alvarez. Up there with froch run if not winning as many.

Because he's one of the best and most entertaining British fighters of the last decade.

Where does Khan feature in your January 2018 P4P list? Don’t think I’ve seen it yet? :maybe:

I've not finished watching all of the fights from last month yet.

I've lost most of my interest in boxing and I am struggling to be arsed watching anything.

Most of my favourite boxers retired, have been inactive, or are on the decline and they haven't been replaced by new fighters that I care about.

The British and Commonwealth titles being treated like trash and hardly any decent domestic fights getting made is not good for making me like that many of the up and comers.

BoxRec looking like a pile of wank doesn't help either.

Well, well, well - Khan sitting next to Hearn. I always thought their relationship wasn't as bad a people made out (otherwise Khan wouldn't have had any punditary gigs with Sky) but I'm shocked to see them working together (people have seem to have forgotton about the Paul McCloskey debacle). I expected Khan to sign with Shaefer / Haye for UK fights.

I would say its between Khan and Haye for the #2 most well known fighter. Khan was big big business back in the day and his run as a world champion has been underated.

That's not to say he is the #2 British boxer in the world, but if you ask 100 people to recogise a picture of all the British boxers - Khan would be the second most recognised face (or 3rd behind Haye).

Speaking on TV today on Sky Sports News, Hearn said of how he handled Kell Brook when giving him the news:

“No, he’s happy. I’ve told Kell. We’ve been talking to Amir for months now. I told Kell a while back that we’re talking. I phoned him and messaged him last night to let him no before anyone else. He’s excited. He doesn’t like Amir Khan. That’s pretty obvious. But also it doesn’t take a genius to work out that this brings Brook-Khan closer. This brings all the mega fights for Amir Khan much closer. This deal isn’t a deal to do the Khan-Brook fight but lets be real here, this is a fight we’ve wanted this fight for ages, this is a fight the British public have wanted for ages and it’s top of the agenda to discuss for the back end of 2018.”

A big enough announcement on it's own.

He will next make an announcement of his next announcement confirming his next opponent soon hopefully.

Hopefully people will have the sense to watch the frampton fight, Hearn will line Khan up against a feather fisted light welterweight

How would you ever attempt to build Khan into a credible world title challenger at welterweight at this stage of his career?! His chin renders that impossible.

Talk of him fighting the likes of Spence and even Garcia is simply ridiculous. Khan has barely been a part time fighter for the past 4 years or so. This has car crash written all over it.
