Josh Taylor V Adrien Broner

Post by Taansend »

No, this fight ain't happening. Well, not yet, anyway.

But if it did how do you see it going? I reckon Taylor would win fairly handily. I do like Broner even though he's a f*cking lunatic. But he just doesn't have the brains to back up his natural ability.

Taylor would tear Broner up. Wouldn't mind seeing Taylor against Indongo next. Think it'll be Yigit for the European though.

Probably. Indongo just signed with DeBella didn't he, so he'll not be fighting Taylor soon.

I'd actually love to see Taylor v Burns but they're in different promotional camps so I doubt if it happens.

I don't think Burns would offer much in the way of a test against Taylor at this stage in his career. He'd more than likely be looking at his first stoppage defeat. Decent earner for both though.

That's what I mean. When was the last time there was a big, all Scottish fight? Burns is a legend. He may not have been the most skillful but what a heart. I can't really see him going anywhere from here so a bow out in a Scottish classic would be a great finale.

Yigit for the European Title should be next for Taylor.
Catterall for the British is another option to chase.
Flanagan, should he pick up the WBO Title, should be on Taylor radar soon aswell.
Indongo, at the Hydro, to avenge the Burns loss is another potential fight to make.
Broner would be great to expose Taylor to the US market I just don't see it happening in the near future...

Can't think when the last big all Scottish fight was tbh. Perhaps Arthur v Burns or Arthur Limond before that. Arthur fought Craig Docherty as well. There were always mumblings of Harrison v Arthur back in the day but obviously that never came off.

I think Burns and Crolla are meant to be having a rematch over here. Pretty uninspiring. First fight was a bore!

I respect both fighters but there's no need for a rematch. Eddie's just being lazy.

jt gettng slghtly overrated for me

oharas a novce and vasquez won 3 rounds and confused jt at times as a blown up lw slightly on the fade. broners never lost to someone worse than taylors right now. broners far more talented and at 140 stronger than anyone jts faced. jt could beat broner but not a thrashing.

Can't believe how desperate they were to talk up the first fight before and after. Calling it a potential FOTY and straight after saying it lived up to it, that it was a war and an instant classic. It was an OK fight between 2 honest fighters who give their all but it never caught fire did it? Lack of power on both sides combined with both being tough made sure of that. Surprised they're doing a rematch myself!

Not sure if it's been confirmed yet but I've heard it mentioned a few times. It's not a show I'd be tempted to attend even if it's just 15 minutes over the road.

Broner would be the fav going in defo, he's got bags more top level experience and is a sharp fighter but his boxing brain isn't as good as his physical abilities IMO, he may be a 4 weight champ but his ego/attitude and behaviour have held him back, I would give Taylor the edge in ringsmarts

Good points. Though I say Broner beats him fairly comfortably.

He seems too of gone downhill since he stopped getting his hair combed between rounds.

No point talking about a peak 140 Broner as he doesn’t exist.

The money oriented- egotistical Broner that would show up at a 145 catchweight would happily go into his shell against Taylor after 5 or so rounds.

i feel ppl are pretty uncritical of jt. like just 'ya! josh beats up everyone'

i think hes really good, but perspective. broner despite his shortcomings is far better than ohara davies. davies was really just a pretty untested prospect with very little amateur career. miguel vasquez is a career lightweight and had just lost the year b4 to mendez. imo vs josh it was all even after 6 b4 jt took over.

how about mikey garcia vs taylor? ill say that taylor would imo handily beat that paper champ garcias fighting next. he could beat broner too but its not a walk in the park yet

This is the problem with Hype we have in this country.. Adrien Broner is an idiot but he’s an elite fighter and styles make fights.. Broner struggles with work rate because he clearly doesn’t train right but he has a good chin and is tough.. He is also on of the most gifted boxers about. I think Josh needs a few more fights before fighting any elite fighter. Josh needs to be managed correctly because the same as when he was an amateur he struggles when things are not going his way.. He needs to fight Yigit then there is a couple of British Boys who will match well against him Jack Caterall v Josh would be a good 50/50 fight then maybe someone like Kirk Relikh or Ricky Burns.. A World title will come as there is always movement with that but would be stupid and too high risk to fight Broner

My worry for Josh Taylor is Cyclone being able to deliver him the fighters/fights he needs without TV deal ?

Yeah but that’s not going to be enough to get Top Level fights in U.K. - he’s going to have to travel in all likelihood as that wouldn’t generate the funds to get good fighters to U.K.
