Murata won’t happen.

A) He has regular belt so he’d have to vacate that, to challenge BJS for full title. Doubt he’d do that when they are sellling him as a world champion in Japan.

B) Also he sells pretty well in Japan and has good financial backing. The money for BJS in the uk isn’t mind blowing.
No way on gods green earth BJS travels to Japan. He’s the huge a-side here after Lemieux.

I don't think BJS is going to get the big names to fight him.
He has the B side promoter for a start, and given that in his last fight the crowd booed through half of it, and they were nice Canadians. American based top guys don't want any of that. If BJS Vs Lemieux was in New York, it would have gone down even worse.
Can anyone see Charlo, or Canelo signing up to fight run Billy run?

I actually think Murata is hugely underrated, the guy is massive at the weight, appears to be extremely strong and has great whiskers. Murata has that Olympic pedigree, very good skills too. He slaughtered NDam twice, forget the 1st result.

I think Billy would go to Japan if the moneys right and the risk is right, but I don't think the risk is right.

Yes I am Mickey. While some appreciate BJS's skill set, raucous boxing fans like action and don't like dancers. Do you think Canelos fans would like their hero in another Mayweather type fight?
Hughie, Billy and to a slightly lesser extent, Tyson are not stylists that a lot of fans enjoying forking out for. Some do, for sure, but if you hear booing in their fights, so do the promoters...

BJS stuck it on Lemieux when he had to. It really was a brilliant boxing performance. Canelo did the same for three rounds against ggg. BJS did it to Eubank, too, for 8 rounds of the fight.

Disagree, I think Saunders at his best beats Charlo at his best, although Charlo is consistently in and around his top level whereas Billy obviously is not.

The Saunders that beat Lemieux is a very difficult man to beat, I’d give Jacobs a good chance because I don’t think Saunders hits hard enough to expose Jacobs weaknesses. In saying that though Jacobs is largely rated on his performance vs GGG and I’m not sure GGG wasn’t on the slide by then. Still very creditable performance though

Think it depends how much money is on offer. Murata can seriously pull in the cash as you point out, there is money there for Billy to get a comfortably career high payday if all parties want it and I’d make Saunders a slight favorite, although very slight. If he doesn’t get GGG or Canelo for some reason I think this is the money fight

Jacobs, Charllo, Andrade, Derevyanchenko - there are not many other options for GGG / Alvarez post May.

Charllo, Andrade would be great.... Spike O Sullivan seems to have gathered a bit of interest since his win - so if they want to look at an easier "name".
Agree with all of the above, however Saunders stood Spike on his head a few years back and the gap will only be wider now - not the right option for me.

He’s got three options for me, take Murata in Japan, which is winnable but def risky but would command a very good pay day, really build the pressure on getting the winner of Canelo or GGG and fight an Andrade or Charlo in the States which would be high risk but a win would see him considerably improve his bargaining position with the winner of that, or take a low risk defence and just hold fire until he gets one of the big boys, but isn’t improving his own standing. Personally I’d try and get Andrade over here as I think Billy, at his best, beats him, but it’s a risk and probably the sensible option is to tread water vs Murray. Cox doesn’t deserve a Bristow title shot for me, far in less more!
Agree Fizz, Saunders vs O Sullivan 2 would only work in America - where they probably haven't seen Saunders vs O Sullivan 1. O Sullivan is a bit of a name in America now, over here he is more known for quitting against Eubank Jnr.

Think Jacobs beats him too. They won't risk either at this stage when he can mark time v a Langford or Cummings.

Good point, Saunders vs O’Sullivan in the US, possibly the Garden if they could link up with Conlan’s people, would help build his US profile, and wouldn’t be much of a risk. If someone was really inspired they could stick it on the GGG v Canelo undercard? Not likely though.
