Following last nights unsurprising debarcle stateside, we now move on to some real fighters this Friday.
Sky are televising Damean Kelly's attempt to lift the EBU title from Simone Maludrottu of Italy. Kelly has home advantage and that could be critical.
This Maludrottu has been European champion for nearly two years and only has 1 defeat in 22 fights. The defeat came early in his career.
A non puncher, so put your money on a distance fight..... I do favour Kelly looking at Maludrottu's record, there is nothing there that stands out as an excellent win... and some of his title defences have been close contests. But, Kelly is pushing on now.
Should be a great match for the purists.

Alright then, Kelly on points is a little bit more likely but Malludrotto is a quality European champ, he dethroned Frederic Patrac to win the title, Patrac being the tough Frenchman who drew (TD) with Noel Wilders before stopping the excellent David Guerault in the first round. Malludrotto relieved Patrac of the title fair and square and Damaen's now 33 years old. The Italian is ranked 3rd by the WBC and 7th by the IBF so this is really a pivotal bout for him, and if Damaen can win, who knows maybe a WBC title shot against Hasagawa might be in the pipeline ?
