Thank You ... Boxing
Most people know I have Parkinsons ... having to live with the condition, makes me sit down & reflect how blessed I have been in my life, and more importantly how lucky I am to STILL to be involved in British Boxing.
I cannot thank people enough and if there was a way I could show my appreciation more I would love to know, so I can.
I started by working on the Mike Tyson v Julius Francis show in Jan 2000 a full 18 years ago ... my journey was helped greatly at the time by Frank Maloney.
I then worked with Mick Hennessy before my lucky break with Dennis Hobson who I am proud to call a friend. I then worked full time for a number of years for David Haye.
Amongst all that I have worked many years as a “whip” & still help out on many shows to this date.
The fine people in boxing I have met are too numerous to mention. The stories I can tell the same ... too numerous.
The countries I have worked on shows include America, Monte Carlo, Latvia, Germany & of course the UK, this year I will add to that list. The shows run into 3 figures.
To all those who have helped & advised me I simply cannot thank you enough ... its because of you all I am coping with my condition way way better than expected ....
Thank you

All the best Spud
Re: Thank You ... Boxing
First there was Amir Khan kissing and making up with Eddie Hearn...... and now.... to top that - Spud and Bennie.
Wow
In all seriousness, well done in your time in boxing to you Spud (well, and too Bennie and everyone else) - lovely to hear your post Spud, keep fighting and keep working. Losing my old man to Cancer last year at a young age (relatively) and seeing him being super fit and healthy (for his age) and clean living to being on his death bed in 5 months has just shown to me how little time we have on this earth and don't take nothing for granted - keep doing the things you love, for as long as you can.
But I do strongly NOT to recommend any grand plans for a new website / forum or any grand plans that you, Lightsoot, Pocket Rocket et al might have - we are all older now and I am not sure my ticker at least can take it again!!!!
