I believe that Matchroom typically have nine fights on the undercard of any event headlined by Anthony Joshua, so I suspect that roughly 50% of the following fighters (who are considered some of the bigger names in Hearn’s stable) will also be competing on the 31st March, 2018:

• Anthony Crolla
• Callum Johnson
• Conor Benn
• Dereck Chisora
• Frank Buglioni
• Hosea Burton
• Jamie Cox
• Jamie McDonnell
• Josh Kelly
• Kal Yafai
• Luke Campbell
• Martin Murray
• Ohara Davies
• Paul Butler
• Ricky Burns
• Rocky Fielding
• Ryan Burnett
• Stephen Smith
• Tasha Jonas
• Tommy Coyle

Some of the other big name fighters within the Matchroom stable, such as: Callum Smith, Daniel Jacobs, Dillian Whyte, Katie Taylor, Kell Brook, Scott Quigg, Tony Bellew etc. already have fights lined up on other dates around the same period, so they won't be available.

"Hearn offers Povetkin fight on Joshua-Parker card"

If Povetkin fights on the undercard of the Joshua-Parker fight on March 31, it’ll help create interest from the British boxing public for the Joshua-Povetkin fight later this year.

He [Povetkin] might box on the card,” said Hearn to skysports.com about Povetkin. ”We’ve offered it to Dereck Chisora and David Price. If Povetkin boxes on the card, it will be against a Brit.”

For the record, Alexander Povetkin put himself in line to face Anthony Joshua after out-pointing Christian Hammer last December in a final WBA 'Super' world heavyweight title eliminator.

It's in his best interests to build his title fight up in the UK, and stay busy. I would much prefer him to fight a more challenging opponent than Del or Price. Neither of those will be particularly inspiring. Why isn't Eddie pushing Whyte in there with Povitkin? Isn't that his go-to HW for any occasion :maybe:

Dillian Whyte is the number one ranked WBC world title challenger.

Alexander Povetkin is the number one ranked WBA world title challenger.

Both guys are in line for world title shots against their respective champions.

Neither Whyte nor Povetkin receive any benefit from facing each other, especially considering the fact the Russian isn’t even rated by the WBC and probably won’t receive a shot at Wilder’s title even if he beats the Brit.

"David Price has accepted an offer to fight Alexander Povetkin" (Source: Sky Sports):

David Price has accepted an offer to fight Alexander Povetkin on the undercard for Anthony Joshua-Joseph Parker as he wants to "gatecrash" the heavyweight division.

Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed yesterday that Price and Dereck Chisora were being considered as potential opponents for Povetkin on the same bill as Joshua's unification clash with Parker in Cardiff on March 31, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The Liverpudlian insists he did not need long to consider the Povetkin fight when he was contacted on Tuesday afternoon and hopes the Russian will agree to face him at the Principality Stadium.
